“READY WHEN CALLED: SOLCOM’s RFJTEX 2026”
14 August 2026 | Camp Guillermo Nakar, Lucena City — The Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM), Armed Forces of the Philippines, successfully conducted the 3rd iteration of the Reserve Force Joint Training Exercise (RFJTEX) 2026. This significant event brought together 371 personnel from the Regular, Ready Reserve, and Affiliated Reserve Forces of the Philippine Army, the Philippine Navy, and the Philippine Air Force.
Over the course of the three (3) days, the exercise focused on strengthening the readiness, interoperability, and integration of Regular and Reserve Forces, preparing them for mobilization, joint operations, and responses to national emergencies within the SOLCOM Joint Operations Area.
During the Opening Ceremony, COMMODORE MARCO N BUENA PN, Deputy Commander, SOLCOM, underscored the collective responsibility of both Regular and Reserve Forces in safeguarding the nation. “It is a shared responsibility—and here in Southern Luzon, you, our reservists, play an essential role in responding to conflicts, crises, disasters, and national emergencies. Your commitment, readiness, and willingness to serve significantly enhance our collective capability to protect our communities and safeguard our nation.”
The exercise included a series of dynamic activities: Staff Exercise (STAFFEX), Subject Matter Expert Exchanges (SMEE), Joint and Combined Arms Operations, Aerodrome Operations, Surface Operations, Coastal Defense Operations, Shipboard Evolutions, Field Artillery Operations, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), Emergency Medical Response and Evacuation (EMR/V), and Collapsed Structure Search and Rescue (CSSR).
These operations were conducted across various training sites within the SOLCOM Joint Operations Area, showcasing the capability of Regular and Reserve Forces to train, operate, and respond as a unified force.
During the Closing Ceremony, LTGEN CERILO C BALAORO JR PA, Commander, SOLCOM, represented by COMMODORE BUENA PN, emphasized the ongoing responsibility of the force.
“The completion of RFJTEX 2026 marks not the end of our duties but another step toward becoming the reliable force that Southern Luzon can count on when the call comes.”
From training to action, RFJTEX 2026 has forged a more prepared, integrated, and interoperable force—ready to mobilize, respond, and serve when the nation calls.
