🌿 Municipal Environmental Monitoring and Evaluation Conducted in Barangays in Celebration of Environment Month 🌿

As part of the celebration of Environment Month, LGU-Lugait conducted a Municipal Environmental Monitoring and Evaluation (MEME) last June 16, 17, 23, & 24, 2026. The MEMET members, composed of MENRO, MAO, SI, MNAO, MAFC, MFARMC, and NGO, assessed the implementation of environmental programs and promote sustainable environmental practices across the eight Barangays of the Municipality.

The activity aimed to evaluate the Barangays' compliance with environmental laws and local ordinances, recognize best practices, and identify areas for improvement in solid waste management, sanitation, tree growing, coastal protection, gardens, and other environmental initiatives.

We extend our sincere appreciation to all participating barangays for their cooperation, dedication, and continuous efforts in protecting and preserving our environment. Together, let us continue to be responsible stewards of nature!

🌳 Tree Growing Activities for Philippine Arbor Day & Environment Month Celebration 2026 🌱

In celebration of Arbor Day and Environmental Month, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lugait, headed by Hon. Wellie G. Lim, successfully conducted Tree Growing Activities last June 5 and 26, 2026 at Barangay Upper Talacogon.

With the active participation of our dedicated LGU personnel and our partners from HRDC, a total of 300 fruit-bearing trees were planted, including Kasoy, Mangga, Nangka, and Marang. These trees will not only help restore and protect our environment but will also contribute to biodiversity, food security, and sustainable livelihoods for future generations.

This initiative reflects our shared commitment to environmental conservation and highlights the importance of collective action in creating a greener, healthier, and more resilient community.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and supported this meaningful activity. Together, let's continue to nurture the trees we have planted and work hand in hand in protecting our environment.

Earlier today, May 28, 2026, the Turnover Ceremony of Capture Fisheries Interventions for our fisherfolk beneficiaries was successfully conducted.

We extend our highest appreciation to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Wellie G. Lim, for his outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment, and continued support in advancing programs for our fisherfolk.

We likewise convey our deep appreciation to our Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Roger G. Lim, for his proactive involvement, dedicated service, and invaluable contributions to the success of this initiative.

We also commend the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan for their steadfast support, legislative guidance, and commitment to programs that uplift our fishing communities, and

Ms. Mary Joy Tac-an, OIC Provincial Fisheries Officer of BFAR Region X, for her invaluable assistance in the effective implementation of this intervention.
