The Municipal Government of Lumba-Bayabao, under the leadership of 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐌𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐫 𝐏. 𝐃𝐚𝐠𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐢𝐭, through the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, continues to strengthen agricultural development by empowering the members of the 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐚 𝐅𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐂𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 through a Collaborative Rice Demonstration Farm in partnership with the 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞, 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 (𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐑) - 𝐋𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐫.

The demonstration farm has hybrid and in**ed rice varieties for comparative study. It helps local rice farmers make beneficial decisions in selecting appropriate rice varieties that can boost productivity and enhance farm income.

The implementation of the demonstration farm is made possible through the teamwork and strong collaboration of the personnel from the MAFAR Municipal Office – Lumba-Bayabao, led by 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐌𝐨𝐚𝐦𝐚𝐫 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐳𝐢𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐝, and Municipal Agriculturist 𝐄𝐧𝐠𝐫. 𝐒𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐂. 𝐃𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐥𝐧𝐚, reflecting their shared commitment to advancing sustainable agricultural development and supporting local farmers.

During the field visit held on July 6, 2026, BS Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering student-interns from 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐨 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲–𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐰𝐢 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 gained firsthand experience in traditional rice farming practices while learning about modern agricultural technologies. The interns also had the opportunity to test-drive a Rice Combine Harvester, providing them with valuable practical exposure to mechanized rice production.

Together, these collaborative efforts demonstrate the Municipal Government's commitment to empowering farmers, promoting agricultural innovation, and building a more resilient and productive farming community.

Sa bisa ng Proclamation No. 544 na nilagdaan ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., ang buwan ng Hulyo ay opisyal na ipinagdiriwang bilang Philippine Agriculturists' Month.

Ang pagdiriwang na ito ay nagbibigay-pugay sa dedikasyon, husay, at mahalagang ambag ng mga Agriculturistang Pilipino sa pagpapaunlad ng sektor ng agrikultura. Kinikilala rin nito ang kanilang mahalagang papel sa pagtataguyod ng seguridad sa pagkain, napapanatiling pagsasaka, at patuloy na pag-unlad ng agrikultura para sa kapakinabangan ng bawat Pilipino.

Patuloy ang pagsisikap ng 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐠𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐌𝐀𝐎) – 𝐌𝐆𝐎 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚-𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐨, katuwang ang MAFAR Lanao del Sur sa pamamagitan ng 𝐌𝐀𝐅𝐀𝐑 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐟𝐟𝐢𝐜𝐞 (𝐌𝐌𝐎) – 𝐋𝐮𝐦𝐛𝐚-𝐁𝐚𝐲𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐨, na higit pang mapaunlad ang sektor ng agrikultura at mapalakas ang kabuhayan ng ating mga magsasaka.

Noong Hunyo 29, 2026, nagsagawa ang mga kawani ng field visit sa mga vegetable garden sa Barangay Gadongan at Barangay Tongcopan. Layunin ng pagbisitang ito na personal na masuri ang kalagayan ng mga taniman, matukoy ang kasalukuyang pangangailangan ng ating mga magsasaka, at malaman ang kalagayan ng pagbebenta ng kanilang mga ani upang makapaglatag ng mga angkop na suporta at interbensyon.

Bilang bahagi ng aktibidad, namahagi rin ang MAFAR Lanao del Sur ng mga vegetable seeds, herbicide, at pataba upang higit pang mapalakas ang produksyon, mapataas ang ani, at masuportahan ang patuloy na pag-unlad ng mga gulayang pangkabuhayan sa ating mga komunidad.

Ang gawaing ito ay sumasalamin sa matatag na ugnayan ng lokal na pamahalaan at ng MAFAR sa pagsusulong ng food security, pagpapabuti ng kabuhayan ng ating mga magsasaka, at pagtataguyod ng isang mas produktibo, matatag, at napapanatiling sektor ng agrikultura sa Lumba-Bayabao.

Ngayong buwan ng Hunyo, ating ipinagdiriwang ang Soil Conservation Month bilang pagkilala sa mahalagang papel ng lupa sa pagpapanatili ng seguridad sa pagkain, pangangalaga sa kalikasan, at pagpapaunlad ng kabuhayan ng mga magsasaka.

Ang lupa ay isa sa pinakamahalagang likas na yaman na nagbibigay-buhay sa agrikultura at sumusuporta sa ating pang-araw-araw na pangangailangan. Sa pamamagitan ng wastong pangangalaga at konserbasyon ng lupa, mapananatili natin ang produktibong sakahan, maiiwasan ang pagkasira ng kapaligiran, at masisiguro ang sapat na pagkain para sa kasalukuyan at susunod na henerasyon.

Sama-sama nating isulong ang mga gawaing nagtataguyod ng pangmatagalang kalusugan ng ating mga lupaing sakahan. Maging bahagi tayo ng adhikain para sa mas matatag, mas produktibo, at mas napapanatiling sektor ng agrikultura.
