Provincial Government of Apayao celebrates 31st Corporate Existence Day

The Provincial Government of Apayao celebrated its 31st Corporate Existence Day on August 5, bringing together provincial officials, employees, retirees, and guests at the BGV Jr. Memorial Gymnasium to commemorate another year of public service and local governance.

Carrying the theme “Celebrating 31 Years of Building Culture, Shaping the Future, and Empowering the People,” the celebration looked back on the Provincial Government’s three decades of service while recognizing the people who have helped shape its growth through the years.

Opening the program, Acting Provincial Human Resource Management Officer Loyd Rio Karl B. Sion spoke about the responsibility that comes with public service, especially among the younger generation of government workers.

“Natutunan ko na ang bawat pagkakataon ay may kaakibat na responsibilidad. Ang bawat karanasan, bawat hamon, at bawat tagumpay ay humuhubog hindi lamang sa ating kakayahan, kundi maging sa ating pagkatao na handang maglingkod sa bayan,” Sion said.

He also honored the late Governor Elias K. Bulut Sr., whose leadership played an important role in the establishment of the province, and encouraged employees to carry forward the values he lived by.

“Ngayon, habang dumarami ang mga proyektong pangkaunlaran na dumarating sa ating lalawigan, sana tayo, lalo na ang mga kabataang nagsimula nang maaga sa kani-kanilang propesyon, at ang bagong henerasyon ng mga propesyonal, ang manguna sa pagtataguyod at pagpapalaganap ng mga positibong epekto ng mga proyektong ito,” he added.

Governor Elias C. Bulut Jr. reminded provincial employees that the work of government is measured by the quality of service delivered to the people.

“Becoming a distinct province was never an accident. It was the fruit of hard work, unity, and unwavering perseverance of our pioneering leaders,” the Governor said.

Employees from different provincial offices also joined friendly competitions, including the TikTok Challenge, Pinoy Henyo, Sack Race, Tug-of-War, Coconut Husking, and Innabbay/Talanggosi, as part of the day’s activities.

The celebration will continue in the evening with the oath-taking of newly hired employees, a historical reflection on the Provincial Government’s 31 years of corporate existence, recognition of provincial civil servants, the Runway Corporate Elegance, and fellowship activities.

The Red Team captured the titles in both the Sack Race and Pinoy Henyo, the Yellow Team topped the Coconut Husking competition, and the Green Team emerged victorious in Talanggosi.
