SYNOPSIS: At 3:00 PM today, the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was estimated based on all available data at 1,160 km East of Northern Luzon (18.2°N, 132.7°E). Southwest Monsoon affecting Luzon and Visayas. Localized Thunderstorms affecting Mindanao
FORECAST:
Mindanao will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or Localized Thunderstorms. Possible flash floods or landslides due to severe thunderstorms. Moderate to strong winds from south to southwest with moderate to rough seas (1.5 to 2.8 meters) will prevail over the eastern section of Mindanao, while, the rest of Mindanao will have light to moderate winds from south to southwest with slight to moderate seas (0.6 to 2.5 meters).

LUPON, DAVAO ORIENTAL — AUGUST 12, 2026
The Davao Oriental State University (DOrSU) – Lupon External Classes conducted its Pasiuna today at the People’s Park Activity Center, Poblacion, Lupon.

The activity was attended by DOrSU students, faculty, staff, and university officers, with the program featuring messages from university officials and local education leaders, including Municipal Mayor Santos Q. Alonzo Jr.

Acting MDRRMO Jessie John Fuerzas attended the activity and conveyed the Mayor’s support for the DOrSU Lupon External Classes and its students.

The Pasiuna also included student orientations, freshmen team-building activities, games, awarding, and club hunting.

ICYMI | NDRM 2026

Promoting Preparedness. Building Resilience. Saving Lives.

Throughout the National Disaster Resilience Month (NDRM) 2026, the MDRRMO Lupon dedicated several days to meaningful activities focused on strengthening disaster awareness, preparedness, and response not only in our communities but also in our schools. 🏫🤝

Among the highlights were the Fire Suppression Training, School Emergency Rescue Team Training, and Community Fire Auxiliary Group (CFAG) activities, equipping participants with essential knowledge and skills to respond effectively during emergencies.

The Incident Management Team (IMT) was deployed for the Araw ng Lupon Motorcade, Grand Celebration Program, and Neo-Ethnic Dance Contest, ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of the municipality’s grand celebration.

With the large gathering of Luponians, guests, VIPs, and spectators, the IMT played a vital role in traffic management, crowd safety, security coordination, emergency response readiness, and incident monitoring throughout the activities.

The Incident Management Team (IMT) was deployed during the State of the Municipality Address (SOMA) and Gabi ng Kultura, ensuring safety, security, traffic management, crowd control, and emergency response readiness throughout the activities.

The IMT remained on standby to help ensure the safe, orderly, and smooth flow of both events amid the large gathering of Luponians, guests, and spectators.
