🎉 On November 11, 2025, members of OFC Calapagan and Marayag participated in a DTI-initiated Dressmaking Training on Filipiniana Blouse Making held at Brgy. Calapagan, Davao Oriental.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Jonahbee Talaugon, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Baganga, who shared her expertise in tailoring and design to help participants enhance their sewing skills and explore livelihood opportunities in dressmaking. ✂️👗

This Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) initiative aims to promote local craftsmanship and Filipino culture, empowering participants—especially women—to create income-generating products rooted in pride and tradition.

The Department of Trade and Industry, in partnership with the Lupon Municipal Agricultural Office, proudly conducted a Capacity Building on Leadership, Entrepreneurial Mind Setting, and Financial Literacy for the passionate members of the Rural-Based Organizations (RBOs), Rural Improvement Clubs (RICs), and 4H Club Leaders on October 21, 2025, at the ABC Hall, New Government Center, Bagumbayan.

Mr. Domingo S. Cruz Jr., Senior Trade-Industry Development Specialist and Trade Promotion Officer delivered an inspiring session on nurturing leadership and cultivating an entrepreneurial mindset—empowering participants to dream big and lead with purpose. Meanwhile, Mr. Mark A. Piañar Special Operations Officer I of Negosyo Center Lupon, shared insightful lessons on financial literacy, encouraging participants to manage their resources wisely and turn their visions into thriving ventures.

This meaningful event, spearheaded by the Municipal Agricultural Office through Mr. Khevin E. Dablo and under the guidance of Mr. Renante L. Prudente, embodies the shared commitment to uplift local communities, ignite innovation, and strengthen the spirit of entrepreneurship across Lupon.

'Wag tipirin ang iyong kaligtasan --- siguarduhing subok, matibay at aprubado ang iyong fire extinguisher. Hindi porket mura ay ligtas na!

✅ Bakit Mahalaga Ito
◾Ang mga pekeng o substandard na fire extinguisher ay maaaring pumalya sa oras ng sunog, na magdudulot ng panganib sa buhay at ari-arian.
◾Ang mga aprubadong produkto ay dumaan sa tamang pagsusuri at sumusunod sa mga pamantayan ng kaligtasan.

🛡️ Mga Dapat Hanapin sa Pagbili
1. Tatak ng Sertipikasyon: Hanapin ang PS Mark o ICC Sticker bilang patunay ng kalidad.
2. Label na Kumpleto: Pangalan at address ng manufacturer, Tatak o brand name, Uri ng kemikal na laman (hal. dry chemical, CO₂, foam), Kapasidad at kabuuang timbang, Malinaw na tagubilin sa paggamit, Pressure rating at taon ng paggawa, Serial number para sa pagsubaybay

🏢 Para sa Mga Negosyo
◾Obligado ang fire extinguisher ayon sa Fire Code of the Philippines (RA 9514).
◾Kailangang naka-install batay sa uri ng gusali, laki, at antas ng panganib.
◾Kinakailangan para sa pagkuha ng Fire Safety Inspection Certificate (FSIC).

🚫 Iwasan ang Mga Panganib
◾Huwag bumili ng extinguisher na walang sertipikasyon.
◾Iwasan ang mga produktong may malabong label gaya ng “universal” o “multi-purpose” kung hindi ito beripikado.
◾Siguraduhing ang pag-refill at maintenance ay mula sa BFP-accredited service provider.

📌 Paalala sa Mga Tindahan (ng Fire Extinguishers)
◾Ipakita nang malinaw ang PS/ICC license sa inyong tindahan.
◾Ang pagbebenta ng hindi aprubadong produkto ay may kaukulang parusa.

As part of the 77th Araw ng Lupon celebration, the Mahayahay Corn and Vegetable Association participated in a Supply and Value Chain Seminar held at the Agri-Trade Exhibit and Tabo sa Luponan, Poblacion Lupon on August 6, 2025.

The seminar was facilitated by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Davao Oriental in collaboration with the Municipal Agricultural Office of Lupon. The resource speaker, Mr. John Dave Navarro, Value Chain Facilitator (VCF)/PCU – Davao Oriental from the RAPID Growth Project, delivered an insightful session on the key stages of the supply and value chain—guiding farmers on how to enhance productivity, reduce losses, and boost profitability in their agribusinesses.
