On June 25, 2026, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Lupon, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), proudly received an award from the DENR Region XI under its Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) during the 2026 Araw ng Pagpupugay, held as part of the Environment Month Culmination Program at DENR RXI Regional Office Conference Room, Lanang, Davao City.

This recognition highlights the LGU’s significant contributions to the conservation, management, development, and sustainable utilization of the environment and natural resources. It serves as a testament to the LGU’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability and responsible stewardship, made possible through the collective efforts and invaluable support of its partners and stakeholders from various local and national agencies, organizations, and sectors.

On June 25, 2026, the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) of Lupon facilitated the joint celebration of Arbor Day, Philippine Eagle Week, and the World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. As part of the celebration, a tree-planting activity and Community Education and Public Awareness (CEPA) session were conducted at Lupon’s Disposal Facility in Barangay Mahayahay.

The event was attended by LGU employees from various offices, along with partners from national and local government agencies, organizations, and other sectors. The activity highlighted the importance of unity and collective action in protecting and nurturing our environment and natural resources. Caring for the environment is a shared responsibility that we must uphold for future generations.

This follows the completion of building and structural inspections conducted by the 𝗠𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠𝗢-𝗟𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻 and the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 to help ensure the safety of school buildings, government facilities, and other public structures.

School heads, office heads, barangay officials, private institutions, business establishments, and the general public are reminded to continue observing safety and preparedness measures, especially in anticipation of possible aftershocks.

Entry shall not be allowed in any building or structure declared unsafe, restricted, condemned, or still pending further assessment by proper authorities.

Everyone is advised to remain vigilant, stay informed through official government advisories, and report any suspected damage to the 𝗠𝗗𝗥𝗥𝗠𝗢-𝗟𝘂𝗽𝗼𝗻 or the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲.

𝗙𝗢𝗥 𝗪𝗜𝗗𝗘𝗦𝗧 𝗗𝗜𝗦𝗦𝗘𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡‼️

To strengthen the implementation of 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗢𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮-𝟬𝟳, signages were installed along Sumlog River and Tagugpo River, declaring these areas as Sand and Gravel Buffer / No Extraction Zones.

The Sand and Gravel Reserve Buffer Zone starts from the 𝗡𝗜𝗔 𝗜𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗗𝗮𝗺 𝗴𝗼𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘂𝗽𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗺, 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗹𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗕𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗗𝗼𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗻𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗼𝘀, 𝗖𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗮𝘆𝗮𝗴.

These signages serve as a clear warning that sand and gravel extraction within the identified areas is strictly prohibited, except under the limitations provided by the Ordinance.

This initiative aims to protect our river systems, prevent environmental degradation, and safeguard vital infrastructure such as irrigation facilities.

In line with the continuous efforts and commitment of the Local Government Unit of Lupon through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), here are the series of clean-up activities conducted by our Cleanliness and Orderliness Personnel for the month of April 2026. These initiatives aim to maintain the cleanliness of our surroundings, protect the environment, and ensure the welfare and public health of the community.

The activities were carried out in both urban and coastal areas within Barangay Poblacion, particularly in public spaces frequently visited by residents.
