The 2nd Special Session of the 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim was successfully conducted on August 28, 2026, at exactly 9:30 in the morning, at the Kablacan Barangay Hall, Barangay Kablacan, Municipality of Maasim, Sarangani Province.

The special session was held in a meaningful and festive atmosphere as the community of Barangay Kablacan celebrated its 78th Founding Anniversary and 9th Malatana Festival, carrying the inspiring theme โ€œPEACE, LOVE, AND UNITY.โ€

The special session was graced by the presence of Municipal Mayor Hon. Zyrex C. Pacquiao, along with the members of the 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim, the Barangay Officials of Kablacan, a Barangay Captain from another barangay.

One of the significant highlights of the session was the presentation and approval of a proposed measure sponsored by the Indigenous Peoples Mandatory Representative (IPMR), Hon. Alamada Isla, Sr., which focuses on providing a safe and suitable community facility for the Indigenous Peoples/Indigenous Cultural Communities (IP/ICCs) in Barangay Kablacan.

โ€œA Resolution Requesting the Alsons Power Group to Allocate Funds for the Construction of a One-Storey Community Center at a Safe Area in Sitio Bob, Barangay Kablacan, Municipality of Maasim, Province of Sarangani, to Serve the Indigenous Peoples/Indigenous Cultural Communities (IP/ICCs) in the Area.โ€

A resolution authorizing the Local Chief Executive Hon. Zyrex C. Pacquiao, LPT, MMPA, Municipal Mayor, to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Golden State College, represented by Julienne Marie T. Manilay, MSHRM, SIPP Head Coordinator, for the conduct of the Practicum/On-the Job training (OJT)/Office Practicum of Bachelor of Science in Information Technology students at the Local Govemment Unit of Maasim.

IN PHOTOS|57th Regular Session of the 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim.The 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim convened its 57th Regular Session on August 24, 2026,at the SB Hall, New Administrative Building, Municipal Compound, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

One of the significant legislative matters taken up during the session was the updating of the Legislative Agenda for 2025-2028, which was adopted and approved by the body. The measure serves as an important guide in setting the legislative priorities and direction of the Sangguniang Bayan,ensuring that its policies and initiatives remain responsive to the needs and development priorities of the Municipality of Maasim.

The Sangguniang Bayan also warmly welcomed Flnsp. Mark Joseph N. Pelipel, the newly assigned Fire Marshal of the Maasim BFP Station, during his courtesy call to the body.The members expressed their support as he begins his service in the municipality. The discussion also touched on fire-safety concerns, particularly the challenge of congested residential areas in the coastal communities.

The body likewise deliberated on various proposed measures, including the proposed ordinance amending the guidelines and benefits for Barangay Nutrition Scholars (BNS) and Barangay Health Workers (BHW), covering additional benefits,honorarium adjustments, burial assistance, scholarship opportunities, retirement benefits, and funding requirements.

Through these legislative actions, the 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim continues to uphold its commitment to responsive legislation, effective governance, and programs and policies that address the needs of the community and support the continuing development of the Municipality of Maasim.

Pacquiao, LPT, MMPA, Municipal Mayor, to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Barangay Local Government Unit of Tinoto for the improvement of the Barangay Covered Court, with an amount of โ‚ฑ500,000.00 chargeable against the 20% Development Fund CY 2026.

๐Ÿ“Œ SB Resolution No. 2026-17-128 โ€“ Authorizing the Local Chief Executive to enter into a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the construction, rehabilitation, and improvement of the line canal of Barangay Malbang, with an amount of โ‚ฑ500,000.00 chargeable against the 20% Development Fund CY 2026.

๐Ÿ“Œ Special Ordinance No. 2026-17-002 โ€“ An ordinance providing for forty-six (46) plantilla positions in various offices of the Municipal Government of Maasim, including their corresponding salary grades and the appropriation of funds therefor. The measure was authored by Hon. Margarito L. Lanticse II, Chairperson of the Committees on Finance, Appropriation, Ways and Means and Employment, Labor and Human Resource.

A look back at the Budget Forum for Calendar Year 2027 held on August 6โ€“7, 2026 at SCMPC Park, Dine, and Chill, Colon, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

The two-day activity brought together the Municipal Mayor, Hon. Zyrex C. Pacquiao; Vice Mayor, Hon. Visitation S. Nambatac; Members of the Sangguniang Bayan; and the Department Heads of the Municipality of Maasim for discussions on the proposed programs, projects, activities, and budget priorities for CY 2027.

The forum provided an opportunity for the different offices of the Municipality to share their plans, coordinate priorities, and work together toward a responsive budget for the coming year.

A productive two days of planning, discussion, and collaboration for Maasim.

The 51st Regular Session of the 17th Sangguniang Bayan of Maasim was successfully held on July 13, 2026, at the Sangguniang Bayan Hall, New Administrative Building, Municipal Compound, Maasim, Sarangani.
