🏖️ On-Shore Volunteers:

Footwear 👟: Sturdy, closed-toe shoes (sneakers or boots). No sandals or flip-flops due to sharp debris and uneven sand.

Sun Protection ☀️: Hat, sunglasses, and reef-safe sunscreen.

Optional Gear 🧤: Your own thick gardening gloves or a reusable bucket (we will also provide standard supplies!).

Safety Tools 🔪 : A dive knife or shears (essential for safely cutting tangled fishing lines and nets)

🤿 Underwater Cleanup Volunteers (Scuba & Freediving)

Dive Gear 🦺: Mask, snorkel, fins, BCD, regulator, and weights. (If you need rental gear, please contact us at least 48 hours in advance).

Safety Tools 🔪 : A dive knife or shears (essential for safely cutting tangled fishing lines and nets) and a surface marker buoy (SMB).

Mesh Bags: Mesh utility bags for collecting underwater debris will be provided, but feel free to bring your own!

💧 Hydration & Snacks: A reusable water bottle filled with water and some quick snacks.

🧥 Weather Prep: Bring a light rain jacket, windbreaker, or a warm change of clothes for after your dive/shift if the forecast looks unpredictable.

Earth Day 2026 | LGU Maasim

The Local Government Unit of Maasim proudly joins the celebration of Earth Day 2026 through a tree planting activity held on April 16, 2026, at the New Public Market, Brgy. Poblacion, Maasim, Sarangani Province.

A total of 500 Narra seedlings were successfully planted, symbolizing our collective commitment to environmental protection and sustainable development.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the active participation and support of our valued partners: PENRO LGU SARANGANI, PCG Maasim, BFP Maasim, SEC, PANHUA, Gamma Epsilon Fraternity, Gamma Lambda Epsilon Sorority, and Magwali Beach Resort.

SBPS People’s Day 2026 | Celebrating 30 Years of Conservation

Maasim, Sarangani Province| On March 7, 2026, the LGU Maasim, through the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), successfully conducted the SBPS People’s Day in Barangay Kabatiol as part of the 30th Founding Anniversary of the Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape.

With 217 participants in attendance, the activity brought joy and meaningful engagement to the community through various services such as Libreng Gupit, Libreng Sorbetes, Libreng Manicure, Feeding Program, SBPS Raffle, and May Premyo sa Lecture Katanungan.

This initiative not only provided free services but also strengthened community awareness and participation in coastal and marine conservation efforts.

Marine Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Seminar

Maasim, Sarangani Province | On March 3, 2026, the Philippine Coast Guard–Maasim, in partnership with the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), conducted a Marine Wildlife Rescue and Rehabilitation Seminar. This activity is an initiative of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) in collaboration with MENRO.

MENRO technical personnel served as resource persons, sharing valuable knowledge and skills on proper handling, rescue, and care of marine wildlife. The activity was attended by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), PNP-Maritime, PNP Maasim, and the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP).

This collaborative effort strengthens inter-agency coordination and enhances the capacity of responders in protecting and conserving our Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape.

Turnover of Wildlife Rescue Vehicle

Maasim, Sarangani Province | On March 2, 2026, the Local Government Unit of Maasim officially received a Wildlife Rescue Vehicle from DENR 12- PAMO-SBPS.

Funded through the SBPS–Integrated Protected Area Fund (IPAF) 2025, this vehicle will play a vital role in strengthening the municipality’s efforts in wildlife protection. It will support the rescue, transport, and rehabilitation of wildlife, as well as ensure a faster and more efficient response to wildlife-related incidents.

This milestone reflects our continued commitment to safeguarding biodiversity and promoting environmental conservation in Maasim.

2-Day Bantay Gubat Capability Building Training 2026

Maasim, Sarangani Province | On March 12–13, 2026, 35 Bantay Gubat personnel from LGU Maasim and 10 from LGUs Kiamba and Maitum successfully participated in the 2-day Bantay Gubat Capability Building Training held at the Municipal Hall of Maasim.

This initiative, organized by LGU Maasim in partnership with CENRO KIAMBA and PENRO-LGU SARANGANI, aimed to strengthen the knowledge and skills of our frontline forest protectors in effective forest protection and management.

The training was facilitated by resource persons from CENRO KIAMBA, PENRO-LGU SARANGANI, and MENRO-MAASIM, equipping participants with essential strategies to better safeguard our forest resources.

Together, we continue to empower our Bantay Gubat in protecting and preserving our environment for future generations.
