Learning continues in Colon National High School (CNHS) amidst high heat index as the school sets to conduct face-to-face classes between 3:00 to 5:00 in the afternoon starting tomorrow, April 23. This schedule is based on Section 2 of the Executive Order No. 20 Series of 2024 released by the office of Gov. Ruel D. Pacquiao, which also extends the previously set F2F classes suspension to April 30.

With the safety and well-being of students and staff at the forefront, CNHS has taken proactive measures to address the challenges posed by the extreme heat. The decision to adjust the class schedule comes in response to the relentless heatwave that has engulfed the region, making traditional classroom hours untenable.

In addition to adjusting the class schedule, the previously adapted Alternative Delivery Mode (ADM) such as conducting online classes and distribution of Self-Learning Modules (SLM) and Learning Activity Sheets (LAS) will still push through asynchronously.

The school has also implemented various measures to ensure the well-being of those in campus. These include providing ample access to hydration stations, encouraging students to dress comfortably for the weather, and monitoring indoor temperatures to ensure adequate ventilation.

While the high heat index continues to pose challenges, CNHS remains steadfast in its commitment to providing quality education in a safe and supportive environment. By adapting to changing circumstances and implementing innovative solutions, the school ensures learning continuity while keeping the well-being of its students and staff at the forefront.
