January 22-23, 2026 | Lebe, Maasim —The Office of the Municipal Agriculturist conducted a two (2)-day Training on Sloping Agricultural Land Technology (SALT) with selected farmers from the Maasim Vegetable Growers Association, Datal Basak Organic Farmers Association, and KAISA Farmers Association.

The activity aimed to promote sustainable agricultural practices and help improve productivity on sloping farmlands through proper soil conservation and land management techniques.

The first day opened with an inspirational message from Ms. Jean Allera, Municipal Agriculturist, highlighting the importance of SALT in sustainable farming and long-term soil productivity. This was followed by the levelling of expectations facilitated by Ms. Mary Jane Zante to align the training objectives with the needs of the participants. A lecture and discussion on SALT was then delivered by Ms. Jehara Santillan, giving participants a better understanding of its principles and benefits. To further support learning, Mr. Eidel Abduldialil and Mr. Al Aziz Daialawi conducted a hands-on demonstration on contouring and A-frame construction.

The second day focused on field activities, where participants applied what they learned through actual contouring and planting on sloping areas. The training concluded with the distribution of certificates to the participants.

Koronadal City, South Cotabato — The Salbuyan Organic Farmers Association proudly participated in the 1st Regional Climate Summit organized under the Adaptation and Mitigation Initiative in Agriculture (AMIA) program of the Department of Agriculture (DA) Region 12, held from October 28 to 30, 2025.

The three-day regional summit brought together various AMIA Villages from all over Region 12, highlighting the shared goal of strengthening climate resilience and promoting sustainable, climate-smart agriculture. Each participating AMIA Village showcased their locally produced goods, displayed innovative products, and engaged in product selling to interested buyers and visitors.

As part of the event’s booth competition, the Salbuyan Organic Farmers Association proudly featured their diverse organic products including Adlai grain, Adlai blend, Adlai crackers, roselle juice, and other fresh farm produce cultivated by their members. Their booth attracted attention for its creativity, quality products, and dedication to promoting healthy and sustainable food choices.

In addition to the exhibit, participants attended a series of seminars and workshops facilitated by the Department of Agriculture and partner agencies. Topics included product labeling and packaging, crop and livestock insurance, food processing techniques, and climate change adaptation strategies, all aimed at enhancing the knowledge and capacity of local farmers.

The event served as both a learning and marketing opportunity for AMIA Villages, fostering collaboration among farmers, government institutions, and private buyers in support of climate-resilient agriculture.
The Salbuyan Organic Farmers Association expressed their gratitude to DA Region 12 for organizing the activity, which not only promoted agricultural sustainability but also empowered local farmers to innovate and grow their enterprises.

September 24, 2025 l Amsipit, Maasim - The Department of Agriculture Regional Field Office 12 (DA-RFO 12), through its Research for Development Division, has distributed vegetable seeds and other essential farming inputs to farmer-beneficiaries in Sarangani Province under the project “Outscaling of Integrated Nutrient and Crop Pest Management Towards Enhanced Crop Productivity and Sustainable Entrepreneurship in Selected Municipalities in Sarangani Province.”

A total of 20 farmer-members of the Proper Amsipit Farmers Association benefitted from the initiative. The farmers received various vegetable seeds and production inputs that will support their crop production activities and strengthen their farm enterprises.

Before the distribution, the beneficiaries were oriented on the proper use and application of the inputs, including integrated nutrient and crop pest management practices. This orientation aimed to ensure that the farmers would be able to maximize productivity, enhance sustainability, and reduce farming costs while protecting the environment.

Through this project, DA-RFO 12 continues to empower local farmers by providing not only the necessary inputs but also the knowledge and technical guidance to adopt sustainable and climate-resilient agricultural practices.

The Proper Amsipit Farmers Association expressed their gratitude to the Department of Agriculture for its continued support in improving their farming productivity and helping them pursue sustainable agripreneurship.
