𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Maasin City Jail Personnel under the leadership of the Acting City Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ., with supervision of JCSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, conducted a clean-up drive along the roadside as part of the jail’s continuing efforts to promote cleanliness, environmental stewardship, and community responsibility. The activity focused on the collection of discarded waste , particularly plastic materials, in support of the β€œRILL Kalinisan” initiative. Through this undertaking, MCJ personnel demonstrated their commitment to maintaining a clean and healthy environment while encouraging the community to observe proper waste disposal practices and actively participate in environmental conservation. Beyond its environmental impact, the clean-up drive also provided an opportunity for MCJ personnel to engage in physical activity, contributing to their overall health, wellness, and physical conditioning. The activity resulted in the collection of one (1) sack of plastic waste, which was properly segregated and disposed of at the designated garbage disposal area.

JO1 Pia-Catalan emphasized that Integrity is the quality of being honest, truthful, principled, and consistent in doing what is right, even when no one is watching. It means staying faithful to your values, fulfilling your responsibilities, and making the right decisions even when doing so may be difficult or inconvenient. In addition, when a person speaks the truth, keeps promises, follows rules, accepts responsibility for mistakes, and treats others fairly and respectfuly. Further, as uniformed personnel we must value it as we are entrusted with safety, security, and welfare of the PDLs under our custody with no abuse of authority, accept improper favors, tolerate wrongdoing, or compromise rules for personal benefits

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Acting City Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ, together with SJO3 Alberto M Epiz Jr., accompanied JCSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC JD Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, along with JCINSP ATTY. MIDARDO B CABOJOC JR , Regional Chief, Legal Service, and JCINSP CIRILO G OCON, Regional Engineer for Ceremonial Signing of the Deed of Donation between the City Government of Maasin and the BJMP which was held at the City Mayor's Office. The donation, made possible through the support of Mayor Luz and Congressman Atty Roger G Mercado and their family, marks a significant milestone in the continued efforts to improve the welfare and rehabilitation of Persons Deprived of Liberty ( PDLs) and the working environment of Maasin City Jail personnel. The event was graced by Hon. Mayor Luz , together with City Administrator Sir Lourse Ortega , City Legal Officer Atty. Brenjune Bliss G. Calapre, City Engr Michael Esparcia, alongside the BJMP Regional Director JCSUPT SONON and staff, who witnessed the signing of the deed of donation. During the ceremony, JCSUPT SONON expressed his heartfelt appreciation and gratitude to the City Mayor for the generous donation of the lot . He emphasized that the donated property will pave the way for a more spacious environment for PDLs and provide opportunities for productive programs. Likewise, the City Mayor Luz V Mercado responded through "Ajonay" that the value of cooperation , unity, helping another , and expressing of hope will continue to inspire everyone to extend support not only to PDLs but also to the dedicated personnel of the Maasin City Jail.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Maasin City Jail Personnel under the esteemed leadership of Acting Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ, with supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, joins the 3rd Quarter Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill in support of the government's continuing efforts to strengthen diaster preparedness and promote a culture of safety wherein MCJ Personnel, visitors and PDLs strictly observe the Duck, Cover and Hold protocol in accordance with the safety guidelines and instructions provided by the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office. Following the drill an accounting and verification of personnel , visitors, and PDLs were conducted to ensure that everyone was propely accounted for. A thorough assessment of the jail facility was likewise undertaken to determine its safety and structural condition before the resumption of normal operations. Medical assistance and necessary health assessments were also made available to personnel, PDLs, and visitors as part of the comprehensive emergency response procedures. The aforementioned activity ended successfully with commitment to preparedness, safety, and disaster resilience, ensuring that personnel and PDLs are equipped to respond appropriately and effectively in the event of an actual emergency.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | Acting Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ accompanied by SJO3 Alberto M Epiz Jr with supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, participated in the Budget Hearing for Fiscal Year 2027 held at the City Hall Building. During the meeting, City Mayor Hon. Luz V. Mercado delivered her privileged speech and expressed her appreciation to all participating offices and agencies.
Likewise, she also announced the donation of 5,000-square-meter lot for Maasin City Jail. The property generously provided through the family's own resources , will help provide PDLs with a more spacious, suitable, and conducive environment. JINSP ALVAREZ, together with SJO3 Epiz, expressed heartfelt gratitude to Honorable Mayor Luz V Mercado for their family's support and generosity toward the Maasin City Jail and its PDLs. Thanking also the Vice Mayor Hon. Maria Effie Abiera Sabandal, Hon. Atty. Margarita Bantug, Hon. Atty. Jezzene Gail "Jigjig" Paler-Acasio and Hon. Mikee Mercado for their unwavering support. The budget hearing featured presentations from various government agencies on their proposed budget allocations, priorities, and programs for Fiscal Year 2027. The budget hearing successfully ended with the active participation of representatives from the Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP), Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) members, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), and other National Line Agencies.
