𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | 𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | JO2 Neil J Paloma , Unit CRS, under the leadership of the Acting City Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ., with supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, discussed the tropics about " Prayerfulness " during the Jail Information and Education session as part of Values Restoration Program. JO2 Paloma, explained that prayerfulness is the quality of being devoted to prayer, being spiritually reflective, and maintaining a strong connection with God. It also refers to a person who regularly prays, seeks guidance through faith, and demonstrates a reverent and worshipful attitude. The activity aimed to strengthen the spiritual well-being and moral values of the personnel.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Maasin City Jail spearhead by the Acting City Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ., with supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, participated in the 2nd Quarter Provincial Management Coordinating Committee for Mangrove Planting and Tree Growing Activity aimed at promoting environmental preservation and protecting marine life. The activity was participated in by the following agencies and offices: Maasin City Jail led by JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ; San Juan District Jail led by JINSP JANUARIO M TRAGURA; Sogod District Jail headed by JSINSP ELIZER B BACOG; BFP Southern Leyte led by SFO4 Rolando Laran; PNP Southern Leyte with City Police Station led by PEMS Sancho Orito; DILG Southern Leyte led by Ms.Shiela Javier Program Manager; Provincial Management Environment Natural Resource Office (PENRMO represented by Mr. Armando Gaviola; and the Brgy.Manhilo Council led Brgy. Chairwoman Angelica Soliva. The program formally started with an opening prayer followed by the welcome remarks delivered by Brgy. Councilor Mercedes. Thereafter, the statement of purpose was delivered by the host Jail Provincial Administrator JSINSP ELIZER B BACOG, who expressed gratitude to all participating agencies for their altruistic dedication and concern for the environment despite unfavorable weather conditions brought about by continuous rainfall. Likewise, messages of support were also delivered by the representatives from DILG Southern Leyte through Program Manager Ms. Shiela Javier and the participating heads of offices. Subsequently, Mr. Armando Gaviola of PENRMO conducted a brief orientation regarding the proper handling and planting of mangrove seedings. Thereafter, snacks consisting of coffee,egg, and arroz caldo were distributed by the host agency. The activity ended successfully and planted (150) One-hundred fifty mangrove seedlings.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The BJMP Maasin City Jail Personnel under the leadership of the Acting Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ with the supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, conducted a surprise "Greyhound Operation" in collaboration with the Maasin City Fire Station headed by FSINSP ATTY EARNSWEL P TAN, the Southern Leyte Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) headed by IAV CHRISTINE ANN C DUMAPIAS and the Barangay Police of Tunga-Tunga under the leadership of Brgy. Chairwoman Hon. Rizalina S AraΓ±a. The activity started with a comprehensive briefing conducted by Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ, to ensure the safety, coordination and effectiveness of the operation. The Greyhound Operations aimed to maintain a contraband -free jail facility and ensure the safety and welfare of Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) while under detention. Through the collaborative efforts of the participating agencies, the operation was successfully carried out with no illegal drugs or contraband confiscated. This outcome reflects the effectiveness of the jail's management and its continued commitment to maintaining a safe, secure , and drug-free work place.

Pusa, Unit Custodial Officer, under the leadership of the City Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ., with supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director BJMPPRO-VIII, discussed the topics about "Innovative/Creativity " during the Jail Information and Education session as part of Values Restoration Program. JO1 Pusa explained that creativity is the ability to generate new and original ideas and to imagine possibilities,while innovation is the practical application and implementation of those ideas to create tangible value. As Jail Officers, creativity and innovation are essential qualities of the jail officers, transforming the role from purely custodial to proactive rehabilitation and dynamic security management. Maintaining security remains a top priority as jail officers must continuously adapt to unpredictable and high-stress environments, often needing creative solutions for conflict resolution, incident management and Persons Deprive of Liberty rehabilitation.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The Maasin City Jail Personnel under the leadership of Acting Jail Warden JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ, and with the supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of (BJMPRO-VIII), conducted a Drug Awareness Information Drive at the Jail facility. The activity featured invited resource speaker Dra. Jemimah D. Corollo from the City Health Unit, in coordination with the City Local Government Unit under the esteemed leadership of Hon. Mayor Luz V. Mercado, for allowing Dra. Corollo to participate in the activity. The program formally started with a welcome message from Acting City Jail Warden JINSP ALVAREZ, followed by Dra.Corollo's discussion on the importance of maintaining good health, the ill-effects of drugs, and the prevention of illegal drugs use. Her discussion was highly informative and well appreciated by the participants. Thereafter, Agent JM Balbarona from PDEA discussed the different types of illegal drugs and their corresponding penalties under the law. The activity ended successfully with active participation and interaction , as the speakers entertained queries from the Persons Deprive of Liberty (PDLs) and personnel for further enhancement of knowledge and awareness.

𝐈𝐍 ππ‡πŽπ“πŽπ’ | The BJMP Runners of Maasin City Jail under the esteemed leadership JINSP ERLU T ALVAREZ with the supervision of JSSUPT RILL F SONON, DSC, JD, Regional Director of (BJMPPRO-VIII), participated in Maasin City Trifecta Three-Leg Race Series. The event featured the 32 KM, 16KM and 8KM categories in support of the City Government of Maasin City and strengthened camaraderie within the community. The aforementioned activity participated by SJO3 Jelson Q Gallego, SJO2 Elma Grace J Flores, SJO2 Rhain C Flores, SJO2 Lindsey Gerong, JO3 Madilyn Mas and JO1 Maria Gissle Sumaya. Despite the challenging nature of the race participants found the activity both enjoyable and fulfilling as they extended support to the organizers, promoted physical fitness, mental wellness, and teamwork. Likewise, it develops good physical and mental conditions. The activity ended successfully and peacefully with normal situation reported throughout the event.

As part of the activity JO1 Glen Manito and JO1 Benjie Harvy Gorra engage lectures and actual demonstrations on self-defense techniques focused on equipping personnel with practical skills necessary for responding to potential threats and maintainig control in critical situations. Likewise, JO1 Frankie Jullano delivered a session on gun safety and firearm familiarization, reinforcing proper handling procedures and promoting responsible use of fi****ms among personnel. Thereafter, a rank inspection was conducted by SJO3 Alberto M Epiz Jr, aimed to ensure that all personnel remain capable of responding effectively to any eventualities, thereby upholding safety and security standards in line with the observance of the 124th Labor Day Celebration.
