🩸 A DROP OF BLOOD MAY SEEM SMALL, BUT IN THE HANDS OF HOPE, IT CAN SAVE A LIFE.
The 10th Blood Donation Activity, in celebration of the 43rd Founding Anniversary of the Reserve Command, Philippine Army, stands as a powerful testament to what we can accomplish when we unite for a cause greater than ourselves.
Our heartfelt appreciation goes to the dedicated men and women of 805CDC, 8RCDG, RCPA, SOYMPH, together with Maasin Med-City Hospital, Philippine Red Cross, Rotary Club, and all other partner agencies and organizations whose unwavering support, time, and generosity made this meaningful activity possible.
This is more than a blood donation drive—it is a shared commitment to humanity. Every donor who rolled up a sleeve gave more than blood; they gave hope, strength, and another chance at life.
❤️ Together, we serve. Together, we care. Together, we save lives.
One drop. One life. One powerful act of compassion.

TEN NEW OFFICERS FROM SOUTHERN LEYTE: GUNDAWAY AND TALAGILAB, RISING TO LEAD THE NATION

Today is a historic and glorious day at the Officer Candidate School of the Philippine Army. From our beloved Province of Southern Leyte, ten young, capable, and gallant 2nd Lieutenants have officially received their commissions, standing tall as the newest leaders of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. They belong to two outstanding classes, each bearing a name that speaks of their character and their calling: OCC Class 64‑2026 “GUNDAWAY”, and OCC ROTC Class 03‑2026 “TALAGILAB”.

From OCC CLASS 64‑2026 “GUNDAWAY”, our province proudly presents:
✅ 2LT JOMAR SILAB PA
✅ 2LT JEANICEL SABINO PA
✅ 2LT ALFRED SALMERON PA
✅ 2LT GEBOY GARVEZ PA
✅ 2LT JEANETTE LAYO PA
✅ 2LT PSYCHE MARIZ DUTERTE PA
✅ 2LT REO S. MILCHOR PA
✅ 2LT JESSUEL J. OLOJAN PA

And from OCC ROTC CLASS 03‑2026 “TALAGILAB”, whose very title declares they were forged through the citizen military training pathway:
✅ 2LT MELVIN BRIONES PA
✅ 2LT MYLENE V. CABAL PA

As the Administrator for Reservist and ROTC Training of Southern Leyte, I stand before you with a heart overflowing with pride, gratitude, and deep fulfillment. This moment is not just a ceremony—it is tangible, undeniable proof that our mission has succeeded. For years, we have worked with one clear vision: to produce competent, honorable, and service‑driven young officers for the Armed Forces of the Philippines who trace their foundation of leadership, discipline and patriotism to the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps.

Let the record be clear and true: a few among them qualified through other valid entry paths, and we honor their dedication equally. But the great majority—eight from Gundaway and both from Talagilab—are proud products of ROTC. We know their stories well. We saw 2LT Reo S. Milchor PA when his heart was broken because his name was not on the first list, only to rise stronger through faith and receive his place in God’s perfect time. We watched 2LT Mylene V. Cabal PA, born to comfort and fair as daylight, choose to stay and train among the men—waking before dawn, running alone while others rested, soaking her uniform in sweat until the unfamiliar became easy, and weakness turned into strength.

These ten carry that same spirit. They are the living answer to every doubt raised about the program: ROTC is alive, it is relevant, and it remains one of our strongest, most reliable pipelines of leaders for our nation. They learned first to stand at attention, to march in step, to obey before commanding, to place service above self, and to love God and country above all else—inside the classrooms, the parade grounds, and the training fields of our ROTC units here in Southern Leyte. Every early morning run under heat or rain, every written examination, every grueling physical test, every interview that probed character, every moment of weariness and every prayer lifted up—all of it led to this day.

To 2LT Jomar, 2LT Jeanicel, 2LT Alfred, 2LT Geboy, 2LT Jeanette, 2LT Psyche Mariz, 2LT Reo, 2LT Jessuel, 2LT Melvin and 2LT Mylene: you are more than just new officers. You are Southern Leyte’s finest gift to the Philippine Army. Wear your rank with humility, your uniform with integrity, and your oath with unbreakable resolve. You have proven that great leaders do not only come from big cities—they rise from our towns, our schools, and our homes, molded by values we hold dear.

To the families, the school administrators, the training staff, the unit commanders and everyone who walked this road with them: we did it. And this is only the beginning. We will continue to mold, to guide, and to produce more officers of character, because a strong ROTC builds a strong Reserve Force—and a strong Reserve Force builds a stronger, safer Philippines.

Gundaway! Talagilab! You have answered the call. Now go forth, lead bravely, serve faithfully, and always make Southern Leyte proud.

MABUHAY KAYONG LAHAT! MABUHAY ANG HUKBONG KATIHAN NG PILIPINAS! 🇵🇭⚔️

West Philippine Sea: Atin 'To! 🇵🇭
The strength of a nation is not measured by the size of its territory, but by the unwavering courage of its people to stand for what is right.
In solemn commemoration of the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 West Philippine Sea Arbitral Ruling, the personnel of 805 Community Defense Center (805CDC), 8th Regional Community Defense Group (8RCDG), under the direction of LTC ARTURO M. DUMALAGAN (INF) PA, joined hands with the Provincial Government of Southern Leyte, led by Governor Damian G. Mercado, during a Flag Raising Ceremony as a powerful symbol of unity, patriotism, and steadfast commitment to our nation's sovereignty.
Every salute rendered, every flag raised, and every heart united reminds us that the West Philippine Sea is more than a body of water—it is a legacy entrusted to every Filipino. Let this occasion inspire us to remain united, vigilant, and proud, preserving our dignity and protecting what rightfully belongs to our nation.
The flag will continue to fly high because the Filipino spirit will never bow.
West Philippine Sea: Atin 'To. Kahapon. Ngayon. Magpakailanman. 🇵🇭

Not all heroes charge into battle with weapons in hand. Some carry the knowledge, skill, and courage to save lives when every second counts.
Through the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TC3) Cross-Training with Disaster Response and Rescue Operations, our warriors are forged into lifesavers—ready to respond not only in the chaos of armed conflict but also in the aftermath of nature's fiercest challenges.
When disaster strikes and hope seems distant, they become the light that guides the wounded to safety. When lives hang in the balance, they step forward with unwavering resolve, transforming training into action and compassion into survival.
This training is more than a course—it is a commitment to humanity. It is the embodiment of selfless service, resilience, and preparedness. It strengthens the hands that rescue, sharpens the minds that decide under pressure, and fortifies the hearts that never leave anyone behind.
Today, we honor those who choose to stand at the crossroads of danger and duty. Warriors who are prepared not only to defend our nation but also to protect communities, respond to calamities, and save lives beyond the battlefield.
Because the greatest victory is not measured by battles fought, but by lives saved.

"Service is not measured by the uniform we wear, but by the lives we touch."

With hearts committed to nation-building and community empowerment, the personnel of 805CDC, 8RCDG, RCPA, 1CMO Company, 8CMOBN, CMOR, PA, and 805RRIBN, under the leadership of LTC ARTURO M DUMALAGAN (INF) PA, proudly participated in the Brigada Eskwela at Basak Elementary School, Brgy. Basak, Maasin City.

Beyond preparing classrooms for learning, the team shared hope and inspiration through the donation of a complete set of volleyball equipment—proof that every act of kindness can ignite dreams, strengthen character, and unite a community.

Today, we did not merely clean classrooms; we helped build futures. We did not simply donate sports equipment; we invested in the aspirations of young minds.

"When soldiers serve beyond the battlefield, they become instruments of hope. When communities and the military work hand in hand, every child is given a better chance to learn, grow, and succeed."

Together, we build schools. Together, we inspire dreams. Together, we shape the future.
