With resounding pride and unbridled joy, the 𝑻𝒖𝒍𝒕𝒖𝒈𝒂𝒏 𝑭𝒆𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒍 of the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗻, 𝗜𝗹𝗼𝗶𝗹𝗼 once again rises to glory as 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗺 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗼𝗻 of this year’s 𝐊𝐚𝐬𝐚𝐝𝐲𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚 𝐊𝐚𝐛𝐚𝐧𝐰𝐚𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐧 in celebration of the Dinagyang Festival 2026.

This triumphant victory is a powerful testament to the festival’s unwavering legacy—where culture, creativity, and community converge in a breathtaking spectacle that honors our heritage and elevates it to the grandest national and international stadium.

From the thunderous rhythms of bamboo instruments to the grandeur of towering props, every movement was woven with artistry and purpose. The meticulous designs, rich in symbolism and craft, came alive through the discipline, precision, and brilliance of the performers, props-men, and instrumentalists whose performance radiated excellence in every beat and step.

Gindumduman naton ang pag-abot sang Tatlo ka Hari nga amo sanday Melchor, Gaspar, kag Baltazar, nga nagsunod sa bituon pakadto kay Bata nga Hesus. Naghalad sila sang bulawan, insenso, kag mira bilang tanda sang ila pagtoo, paghigugma, kag pagsimba sa matuod nga Hari.

Ang Tres Reyes nagapahanumdum sa aton nga mangin mapinadayunon sa pagpanita kay Hesus bisan ano pa ang kabudlayan sang dalan. Pareho sang tatlo ka hari, ginatawag man kita nga maghalad indi lang materyal nga butang, kundi ang aton kasingkasing, oras, kag buot nga mag-alagad sa Ginoo kag sa isigkatawo.

Ang importansya sang sini nga selebrasyon amo ang pagpahayag nga si Hesus ginpakilala sa tanan nga pungsod. Paandam ini sa aton nga sundon ang kahayag sang Ginoo kag padayon nga mangin saksi sang iya gugma sa aton kabuhi.

Maasin, Iloilo comes alive as we joyfully celebrate our fiesta in honor of the Feast of Santiago El Mayor—a time of faith, unity, and thanksgiving. From heartfelt prayers to vibrant streets filled with music, dance, and smiles, we honor our patron saint who inspires courage and devotion in the hearts of the Maasinanons. Truly, this celebration reflects our deep-rooted faith and our strong sense of community.

Proudly known as the home of the world-class Tultugan Festival, Maasin showcases its rich culture, creativity, and resilience—turning simple materials into powerful symbols of hope and joy.

As we celebrate, let us be reminded of God’s blessings: “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.” (James 1:17).

Si Dr. José Rizal, ang ating pambansang bayani, ay patuloy na nagbibigay-liwanag sa diwa ng pagiging makabayan.

Sa kanyang mga akda, talino, at sakripisyo, ipinakita niya na ang tunay na pagmamahal sa bayan ay hindi nasusukat sa dahas kundi sa paninindigan para sa katotohanan at katarungan.

Tulad ng kanyang tanyag na paalala, “Ang kabataan ang pag-asa ng bayan,” patuloy niyang hinihikayat ang mga Pilipino—lalo na ang kabataan—na gamitin ang kaalaman at konsensya para sa ikabubuti ng bansa.

Mahalagang alalahanin si Rizal hanggang ngayon dahil ang kanyang mga aral ay nananatiling napapanahon. Sa gitna ng mga hamon ng lipunan, ang kanyang halimbawa ay paalala na may kapangyarihan ang edukasyon, malasakit, at pagkakaisa.

Ang pag-alala kay Rizal ay hindi lamang paggunita sa nakaraan, kundi panawagan na ipagpatuloy ang kanyang adhikain para sa isang malaya, makatarungan, at maunlad na Pilipinas. ✊🏻🇵🇭

Sa sini nga Pasko, ginapasalamatan gid sang PYAP Maasin Iloilo Chapter ang tagsa ka miyembro, lider, kag mga nagasuporta nga padayon nga nagaserbisyo nga may pagtuo, paghiusa, kag gugma. Ang inyo dedikasyon sa pagserbisyo sa komunidad kag sa pagpalig-on sang espiritwal nga kabuhi nagapakita sang matuod nga kahulugan sang Pasko—ang pagpaambit sang paglaum, kaayo, kag kalipay.

Samtang ginasaulog naton ang pagkatawo sang aton Manluluwas, kabay pa nga madumduman naton ang pinakadaku nga regalo sang Dios kag mangin instrumento kita sang Iya gugma sa aton komunidad.

Honoring Graciano López Jaena Day
December 18, 2025

Today we honor Graciano López Jaena, the proud Ilonggo son of Jaro, Iloilo City, born on December 18, 1856. From a young age, he stood up against injustice, using his sharp mind and fearless pen to challenge unfair treatment under Spanish colonial rule. It was in Jaro where he first wrote his bold satire “Fray Botod,” a story that exposed abuses by Spanish friars and marked the beginning of his life as a reformist thinker.

López Jaena would go on to sail to Spain, where he became a leading voice for Filipino rights. There he founded and edited the reformist newspaper La Solidaridad — a key platform of the Propaganda Movement advocating equality and freedom of speech for Filipinos under colonial rule.

Iloilo City and Province commemorates this day in honor of one of its greatest sons—an Ilonggo who carried the voice of his people from Jaro to the world, inspiring patriotism, freedom, and love of country.

Another year draws to a close, another chapter gently ends, and a new journey awaits us in the coming year.

We extend our sincerest gratitude for your unwavering support and active participation in the programs and activities of the PYAP Maasin, Iloilo Chapter. Despite every challenge we faced—amid doubts, uncertainties, moments of exhaustion, and countless deliberations—we stood firm and moved forward together. Through it all, we are proud to say that what we have accomplished was never for personal gain nor solely for the organization, but always in service of the youth, the community, and to the Maasinanhons, whom—we are honored to serve.

Through the collective efforts of the PYAP Maasin, Iloilo Chapter officers and the dedicated PYAP Barangay Presidents, we made this journey meaningful. With strong collaboration, enthusiastic participation, and sustained commitment to our programs, we were able to stand as an example of unity, resilience, and purposeful leadership.

A meaningful day for nature as the One Visayas Alliance, together with various organizations from Iloilo City and the Municipality of Maasin, gathered for a united cause—to plant, grow, and protect trees for a greener future. The event was graced by Ma’am Noemi Magullado, MENRO Officer of Maasin LGU, and OVA Vice President Marlon Fernandez, whose leadership continues to inspire collective environmental action.

The PYAP Maasin, Iloilo Chapter proudly reaffirms its unwavering commitment to this tree-growing initiative—an effort that goes beyond today’s planting activity. It is a lifetime shared responsibility that nurtures our ecosystem, enriches biodiversity, and safeguards the planet for future generations.

As the great Wendell Berry once reminded us: “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐚𝐥𝐥 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐨𝐧.” May this serve as a call for all to continue caring for our environment with purpose and compassion.

November 13 | The Civil Society Organizations of the Municipality of Maasin, Iloilo convened for the CSO Congress for Calendar Year 2025, attended by various accredited and duly recognized organizations within the municipality.

The event was highlighted by the messages of the Sangguniang Bayan Members and graced by the presence of Mayor Francis Amboy, who expressed his steadfast support for Civil Society Organizations and other marginalized sectors of the community.

This marks not an end, but the beginning of greater and more impactful initiatives in 2026. We invite everyone to stay updated on upcoming activities and engagements of the CSOs.
