PNP-MG-SWOS RESPONDS TO GROUNDED VESSEL INCIDENT IN MABINI, BATANGAS

At around 9:45 PM on August 17, 2026, PNP-MG-SWOS personnel responded to a report of a grounded motorized vessel, “ANASTACIA,” near CAMALIG Resort, Barangay San Teodoro, Mabini, Batangas.

The team immediately secured and stabilized the vessel using ropes, a buoy, and flotation drums. A follow-up recovery operation was conducted at around 7:00 AM on August 18. However, due to rough sea conditions caused by the Southwest Monsoon (HABAGAT), the operation was temporarily suspended to ensure the safety of the responding personnel and prevent further damage to the vessel.

Recovery efforts will resume once weather and sea conditions permit, in coordination with the concerned authorities.

PNP-MG-SWOS remains committed to providing timely and effective response during maritime emergencies.

The PNP Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School (PNP-MG-SWOS) conducted a One-Day Water Rescue Techniques and Police Rubber Boat Handling Training for 40 personnel of the Headquarters Support Service (HSS), NHQ-PNP, led by PLTCOL CHRISTOPHER S SARTE - Asst. ARMD-HSS, at SWOS, Mabini, Batangas.

The training aimed to enhance participants’ water rescue skills, boat-handling capabilities, teamwork, and emergency response readiness for water-related disasters and incidents.

🇵🇭 IN PHOTOS | Mabini Day 2026: Commemorating the Life and Enduring Legacy of Apolinario Mabini, a Filipino Hero and Patriot.

On July 23, 2026, the PNP Maritime Group – Special Waterborne Operations School (MG-SWOS), in support of the Mabini Local Government Unit (LGU) through its Tourism Office, together with the Mabini Municipal Police Station (Mabini MPS), Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), led the Entry and Exit of Colors and Wreath-Laying Ceremony in celebration and commemoration of the life and legacy of Apolinario Mabini.

The commemorative ceremony was graced by the presence of Hon. Senator Risa Hontiveros, who was warmly welcomed by Hon. Mayor Noel "Bitrics" Luistro.

Apolinario Mabini, known as the "Brains of the Philippine Revolution," was a Filipino revolutionary leader, statesman, and patriot who served as a key adviser to Emilio Aguinaldo and played a significant role in shaping the political and constitutional foundations of the First Philippine Republic. Despite being paralyzed from the waist down, Mabini remained steadfast in his service to the Filipino nation and became one of the most distinguished figures of the Philippine Revolution and the struggle for independence.

As part of the ceremony, MG-SWOS provided the ceremonial volley firers, contributing to the solemn and dignified observance honoring the life and enduring legacy of Apolinario Mabini, whose patriotism, intellect, and unwavering dedication to the Filipino people continue to inspire generations.
