MACARTHUR, LEYTE โ Thirty-one (31) Barangay Councils for the Protection of Children (BCPCs) of MacArthur, Leyte actively participated in the ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ฎ๐ฒ ๐ฃ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐-๐ข๐ก ๐๐๐ก ๐ ๐๐ ๐๐๐ฅ๐๐๐: ๐ฆ๐๐ฟ๐ฒ๐ป๐ด๐๐ต๐ฒ๐ป๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐ผ๐ณ ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ฎ๐ป๐ด๐ฎ๐-๐๐ฎ๐๐ฒ๐ฑ ๐๐ป๐๐๐ถ๐๐๐๐ถ๐ผ๐ป๐ ๐๐ฝ๐ถ๐๐ผ๐ฑ๐ฒ ๐ญ โ ๐๐๐ฃ๐ on April 29, 2026, conducted via Zoom.
The virtual activity, initiated by the DILG Region 8, gathered barangay officials and child protection advocates across the region to reinforce the critical role of BCPCs as frontline institutions in safeguarding childrenโs welfare at the grassroots level.
During the session, participants were oriented on the roles, responsibilities, and best practices in implementing child protection programs. Emphasis was placed on strengthening coordination mechanisms, ensuring compliance with existing policies, and enhancing local initiatives that promote childrenโs rights and well-being.
The participation of all 31 barangays of MacArthur reflects the municipalityโs commitment to building resilient and child-friendly communities through empowered and functional barangay-based institutions.
The activity marks the first episode of a continuing series aimed at capacitating local councils, equipping them with the necessary knowledge and tools to effectively carry out their mandates in protecting children.
As the municipality continues to prioritize child welfare, initiatives such as this underscore the importance of sustained collaboration between national agencies and local government units in fostering safe and nurturing environments for every child.
