𝐖𝐎𝐑𝐋𝐃 𝐀𝐈𝐃𝐒 𝐃𝐀𝐘 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓 𝐂𝐄𝐋𝐄𝐁𝐑𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍

To raise awareness about HIV/AIDS, the Local Government Unit of Maddela, through the Municipal Health Office, conducted the 2025 World AIDS Day Awareness, held at the Maddela Municipal Gymnasium on December 1, 2025.

The theme for this year, "Overcoming disruption, transforming the AIDS response", highlights our continued warfare against HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Mr. Dee Jay A. Lumanog, PHA, MPA, served as the program's guest speaker. He discussed the different gender spectrum and explained the transmission, as well as the symptoms of AIDS and other sexually transmitted diseases. Ultimately, he encouraged everyone to take action against HIV and AIDS.

Different contested activities were also conducted during the program, in which students from different schools in the municipality of Maddela actively participated. They have showcased their elegant and refined moves during the Interpretative Dance contest, while contenders of the slogan and poster-making contest flaunt their artistic and creative minds.

Also gracing the event was Mayor Rimel C. Tolentino. In his speech, he reiterated the vital role of the youth in the fight against AIDS. Hon. Prescy D. Albano was also present, encouraging everyone to stay free of HIV/AIDS.

This event is more than just a commemoration - it's a call for action! Let us break the silence and fight the stigma.

Kapag ang ating mga anak o mga kasama sa bahay ay nakitaan ng sintomas ng influenza-like illness tulad ng pagkakaroon ng lagnat, ubo, sipon, sore throat, at minsan ay may kasamang pagsusuka at pagtatae—napakaimportante po na kumonsulta agad sa pinakamalapit na health facility upang mabigyan ng agarang lunas at sapat na kaalaman at gabay para hindi na lumalala ang sakit at makahawa pa sa ibang tao.

Para sa lahat, ugaliin ang palagiang paghuhugas ng kamay at pagsunod sa tamang coughing etiquette. Kapag nakakaramdam ng mga sintomas, mahalaga ang pagpapanatili ng hydration, kaya ugaliing uminom ng maraming tubig, magpahinga nang sapat, at kumain ng masusustansya at sapat na pagkain upang mapalakas ang ating resistensya.

In celebration of the 28th Indigenous Peoples’ Month and in commemoration of the Indigenous Peoples’ Rights Act (IPRA), a Medical and Dental Mission was conducted on October 16, 2025, at San Dionisio 1, Maddela, Quirino.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the collaboration of the Provincial Department of Health–Quirino, Maddela Municipal Health Office, and the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP) Regional Office 02 , NCIP Provincial Office- Quirino and Maddela Service Center with the assistance of Municipal IPMR Hon. Melcar Tolentino. The mission served around 100 Agta Indigenous Peoples (IPs) and other underserved residents in the area, reflecting our continued commitment to health and wellness for all communities.

A big thank you to all our partners and volunteers for making this initiative a success! Together, we continue to build healthier and more resilient communities.

In celebration of Elderly Filipino Week, the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development, in coordination with the Maddela Municipal Health Office, successfully conducted a Health and Wellness Caravan for Senior Citizens on October 9, 2025, in Maddela, Quirino.

This meaningful activity aimed to provide much-needed healthcare services to our beloved elderly population, promoting their well-being and recognizing their valuable contributions to our community.

Thank you to all our partners and senior citizens who joined and made this event a success!

The Municipal Health Office, in partnership with the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) and the Cagayan Valley Center for Health Development (CVCHD), successfully conducted a TB Caravan on October 9, 2025, at Barangay Lusod, Maddela, Quirino.

A total of 250 individuals availed of free chest X-ray screening as part of our commitment to promoting early detection and timely treatment of tuberculosis.

This initiative is a vital step toward a healthier, TB-free Maddela!

✅ Kumain ng masustansya at iwasan ang matatamis, maalat, mamantika, at matataba (4Ms)
✅ Mag-ehersisyo araw-araw
✅ Magpasuri nang maaga upang matiyak na ang timbang, taas, at sukat ng baywang ay akma sa iyo
✅ Iwasang magpuyat
