The spirit of Christmas shone brightly in our barangay as residents gathered today for a joyful and memorable Christmas Party filled with dance, games, and generous surprises. The event was made possible through the efforts of the Barangay Council, headed by Hon. Capt. Marites Intad whose support and leadership ensured a smooth and festive celebration for everyone.

One of the highlights of the day was the Senior Citizens Zumba Dance Contest, made extra special thanks to the generous sponsor who provided the prizes and helped bring smiles and energy to our beloved senior citizens.

A huge appreciation also goes to Konsehal Malot Orig, whose sponsorship powered the raffle segment of the program. Their support added excitement to the crowd, with many residents eagerly anticipating the chance to win.

The SK Council likewise played a big role in the success of the event by sponsoring raffle gifts and giving out cash prizes for the various games, keeping the youth and families engaged and entertained throughout the celebration.

The barangay extends heartfelt thanks to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported the event. Today’s celebration not only welcomed the Christmas season but also strengthened the spirit of unity and community among all residents.

Classes are suspended in all levels, public and private today December 5, 2025, due to Tropical Depression Wilma.

DOST PAGASA has placed portions of Surigao del Sur, including the Municipality of Madrid, under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1. TD Wilma may bring strong winds, heavy rains, and possible flooding and landslides, as noted in the CARAGA Weather Highlights No. 5 issued at 11:00 pm, December 4, 2025.

This suspension is necessary to ensure the safety of our students and school personnel. Modular distance learning will be implemented until further notice.
