2 HIGH-VALUE DRUG PERSONALITIES COLLARED, ₱14.6-M SHABU SEIZED

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested two high-value drug personalities and seized millions of pesos worth of suspected shabu in separate anti-illegal drug operations in Las Piñas City and Camarines Sur on August 29, 2026.

In Brgy. Manuyo Dos, Las Piñas City, personnel of the PNP Drug Enforcement Group (DEG), Southern Police District’s Station Drug Enforcement Unit and Sub-Station, and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) NCR apprehended a 30-year-old male during a buy-bust operation. Seized were approximately 2,000 grams of suspected shabu valued at ₱13,600,000.00, along with buy-bust money and other evidence.

Meanwhile, in Brgy. Pawili, Bula, Camarines Sur, personnel of the Bula Municipal Police Station, Camarines Sur Police Provincial Office Provincial Intelligence Unit, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 5, and PNP DEG arrested another male high-value drug personality in a separate buy-bust operation. Recovered were approximately 150 grams of suspected shabu worth ₱1,020,000.00, together with the buy-bust money.

The operations resulted in the recovery of approximately 2.15 kilograms of suspected shabu, with a combined value of ₱14,620,000.00, keeping a substantial quantity of dangerous drugs out of circulation.

The accomplishment supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through focused action against high-value drug personalities.

“These operations show what can be achieved when intelligence is translated into precise and lawful police action. We will remain focused on dismantling criminal activities and ensuring that cases arising from our operations are properly brought before the courts,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Ang laban kontra ilegal na droga ay hindi lamang tungkol sa pagkakaaresto. Mahalaga ring maputol ang daloy bago pa ito makarating sa mga gumagamit at masira ang buhay ng mas maraming pamilya,” he added.

The arrested individuals are under police custody for proper disposition, while the confiscated drug evidence has been submitted for laboratory examination and appropriate legal proceedings.

PNP DEALS DOUBLE BLOW TO ILLEGAL GAMBLING: 6 ARRESTED, NEGROS ORIENTAL PD AND 6 CHIEFS RELIEVED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., has dealt a decisive blow to illegal gambling in Negros Oriental, with six individuals arrested and seven police commanders relieved under the PNP’s One-Strike Policy.

On August 28, 2026, simultaneous operations conducted by the Regional Special Operations Group of the Police Regional Office Negros Island Region from 10:14 AM to 1:34 PM resulted in the arrest of six individuals in the municipalities of Ayungon, Tayasan, Sibulan, and Pamplona, and the cities of Bayawan and Guihulngan. The six individuals were apprehended for allegedly soliciting and collecting bets for illegal numbers games in violation of Republic Act No. 9287, or the Anti-Illegal Numbers Games Law.

The operations resulted in the recovery of betting slips, improvised betting receipts, claim stubs, notebooks containing various number combinations, ballpens, marked bet money, and cash believed to be proceeds from the illegal numbers games.

The positive operations prompted immediate administrative action, resulting in the relief of the Chiefs of Police of Ayungon, Tayasan, Sibulan, Pamplona, Bayawan, and Guihulngan, as well as the Provincial Director of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office, whose area of responsibility covers the entire province. Meanwhile, the Deputy Regional Director for Operations (DRDO) of PRO NIR was designated as Officer-in-Charge of the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office in addition to his present duties.

“Police leadership demands accountability, and we will not hesitate to impose decisive action when commanders fail to address illegal activities within their areas of responsibility. Our operations must be backed by firm command responsibility and sustained enforcement,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Hindi sapat na may mga nahuhuli lamang; kailangang matiyak ng bawat hepe na walang puwang ang ilegal na sugal sa kanilang nasasakupan. Pananagutan ng bawat lider ang pagpapatupad ng batas at pagpapanatili ng kaayusan,” he added.

PNP MOBILIZES OVER 2,200 PERSONNEL AS HABAGAT RESPONSE CONTINUES

The Philippine National Police (PNP) has scaled up its deployment to 2,207 personnel alongside 12,459 Reactionary Standby Support Force (RSSF) personnel to sustain emergency response and public safety operations across regions hit by the enhanced Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

As of 6:00 AM on August 30, 2026, police personnel have been stationed across 948 occupied evacuation centers, which are currently providing shelter to 31,800 families comprising 138,325 individual evacuees.

Deployment includes 741 personnel at evacuation centers, 30 in vacated areas, 3,180 at vital installations, 769 for search, rescue, and response, and 473 for monitoring and road clearing. Additionally, 295 Women and Children Protection Desk personnel are stationed at evacuation facilities to protect vulnerable groups.

To assist stranded commuters, the PNP Libreng Sakay initiative has deployed 353 personnel alongside 141 mobile patrol cars and 12 MAN trucks. PNP units are utilizing 153 vehicles, including three LGU-loaned rubber boats. Relief efforts have delivered 14,222 goods and forms of assistance, benefiting 34,510 individuals.

Infrastructure monitoring reports 242 impassable roads, 10 impassable bridges, eight cancelled vessel trips, 11 landslides, and 14 stranded passengers. Structural damage includes 185 total structures and two police stations, with zero damage to PNP headquarters, mobile cars, or communication lines.

Across 841 affected barangays, power and communication lines remain fully operational. Zero looting incidents and zero gender-based violence or human trafficking cases have been recorded.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized prioritizing safety and strategic deployment.

“Ang priority natin ngayon ay safety. We want our personnel to be where they are most needed—sa evacuation centers, on the roads, and in communities that need immediate assistance. We will continue coordinating with local authorities and our partner agencies so that help can reach our people,” PGen Nartatez said.

He also urged public vigilance: “We are asking everyone to remain vigilant and to follow the advice of local authorities.. Sa ating mga kababayan, huwag po tayong mag-atubiling humingi ng tulong kung kinakailangan.”

Law enforcement operatives successfully intercepted an illegal recruitment operation in Isabela, shielding several aspiring overseas Filipino workers from fraudulent employment schemes.

The joint operation, conducted by the CIDG Isabela Provincial Field Unit alongside representatives from the Department of Migrant Workers Region 2, took place in Barangay Rizal, Santiago City. Authorities apprehended two local individuals, a man known as alias "Mark" and a woman known as alias "Ana," both in their mid-30s and Filipino citizens.

The duo was caught in the act of collecting documents and processing fees from job seekers, promising high-paying opportunities in Ireland and the Netherlands as caregivers, agricultural workers, and health professionals without the necessary authority or license from the government.

PNP ARRESTS NCR NO. 2 MOST WANTED PERSON FOR 10 COUNTS OF QUALIFIED R**E

Police authorities arrested a No. 2 Most Wanted Person in the National Capital Region during an early morning operation in Barangay Malanday, Marikina City, on August 30, 2026.

The wanted person, a Filipino of legal age, was arrested by personnel of Police Station 14 of the Manila Police District by virtue of a warrant of arrest for 10 counts of Qualified R**e, with no bail recommended.

The arrested individual is now under police custody and will undergo the appropriate legal proceedings.

The accomplishment reflects the Philippine National Police’s continuing efforts to locate and account for wanted persons through focused and lawful police operations. DIGITAL TRAIL EXPOSES ONLINE SEXUAL EXPLOITATION, LEADS TO TEEN’S ARREST

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested an 18-year-old Filipino man, alias “Robert,” in San Jose de Buenavista, Antique, following an entrapment operation involving the alleged sexual exploitation and harassment of his 17-year-old girlfriend on August 23, 2026.

Operatives of the Antique Provincial Cyber Response Team (PCRT) of the PNP Anti-Cybercrime Group (ACG) conducted the operation after the minor victim, accompanied by her guardian, sought police assistance over threats involving her intimate images and videos.

Investigation showed that alias “Robert” allegedly groomed and manipulated the victim into a romantic relationship. During their relationship, he asked permission to record an intimate encounter using the victim’s mobile phone, which she allowed under the belief that the recording would remain private.

On August 16, 2026, an argument between the two reportedly led to the suspect threatening to share the intimate videos with others. Further investigation established that he had allegedly gained unauthorized access to the victim’s iCloud account, enabling him to access the intimate recordings stored there.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. underscored that the case demonstrates how digital evidence can help law enforcement identify and apprehend individuals who exploit technology to victimize children.

“The PNP will remain relentless in pursuing offenders who use technology to threaten, manipulate, or exploit children. Every piece of digital evidence matters in building cases and protecting victims,” the PNP Chief said.

Alias “Robert” is facing charges for violation of Article 286 (Grave Coercion) of the Revised Penal Code and Section 4 of Republic Act No. 11930, or the Anti-Online Sexual Abuse or Exploitation of Children (OSAEC) and Anti-Child Sexual Abuse or Exploitation Materials (CSAEM) Act of 2022, both in relation to Section 6 of Republic Act No. 10175, or the Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012.

PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. also urged victims and families to immediately seek police assistance when faced with online threats or exploitation.

“Hindi dapat maging kasangkapan ang teknolohiya sa pananakot at pagsasamantala sa mga menor de edad. Pananagutin natin ang sinumang gagamit nito upang takutin o kontrolin ang isang bata,” he added.

The arrest highlights the PNP’s firm resolve to protect children from technology-enabled sexual exploitation and ensure that perpetrators face the consequences of their actions.

ALLEGED ₱1M “SALISI” THEFT LANDS TENANT IN POLICE CUSTODY

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a 34-year-old female tenant in connection with an alleged “salisi” theft involving high-value jewelry in South Triangle, Quezon City, on August 27, 2026.

Operatives of the Kamuning Police Station (PS-10) under the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) responded after the victim discovered that three pouches containing jewelry worth approximately ₱1,007,000.00 were missing from her pink sling bag.

Initial investigation showed that the victim had earlier found the suspect inside her bedroom applying makeup, despite the suspect’s designated sleeping area being in the unit’s sala. The suspect later left the condominium.

The victim subsequently inspected the suspect’s sleeping area and recovered two bracelet chains inside a small transparent zip-lock bag. The victim’s bedroom key was likewise found near the suspect’s bed. A Buddha pendant valued at ₱250,000.00 was left behind, while its matching necklace was missing.

When the victim learned that the suspect had returned to the condominium lobby, she immediately alerted PS-10 personnel. Responding officers proceeded to the location and arrested the suspect, bringing both parties to the police station for investigation and proper disposition.

The suspect is set to be referred to the Prosecutor’s Office for the filing of a complaint for Theft (Salisi). The allegations remain subject to investigation and the appropriate judicial process, with the suspect entitled to due process under the law.

“Police response must be timely and grounded on facts, especially in cases where evidence may be crucial in establishing what happened. We will ensure that every complaint is properly acted upon and that the law is applied fairly,” said PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr.
