From Polls to Pupils: Dr. Gumobao’s Day of Service and Inspiration

In a single day, PSDS Dr. Nemeflor M. Gumobao advanced voter registration, secured a school site pledge, and reignited the passion of Magdalena’s kindergarten teachers.

Dr. Gumobao marked a highly productive day in Magdalena, combining civic responsibility with educational advocacy.

At the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Office, Dr. Gumobao signed documents for newly registered voters in preparation for the upcoming Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) and Barangay Elections — a process that ensures young voters and community members are officially included in the electoral roll ahead of the polls.

Equally significant was his meeting with Madam Christine Lao Criste, who pledged to donate a school site — a commitment expected to greatly enhance educational access in the community.

Later that day, the focus shifted from civic duty to classroom inspiration. At the Magdalena Sub-Office, he convened all kindergarten teachers in the district for an engaging and motivating session on the joys and purpose of teaching young learners. “Teaching is a journey of joy, creativity, and purpose,” he reminded the group, while also sharing valuable insights on curriculum development and child psychology from the PSDS perspective.

The session left kindergarten teachers inspired, reenergized, and more committed than ever to their mission. With passion reignited and dedication strengthened, the gathering closed on a high note, reflecting both the tireless spirit of the educators and the leadership that continues to guide them.

Through these interconnected activities — from voter registration to securing a school site, and from inspiring teachers to advancing early education — Dr. Gumobao demonstrated his unwavering commitment to the people of Magdalena, proving that civic engagement and educational progress can go hand in hand.
