BFP MAGPET INTENSIFIES FIRE CRACKER INSPECTION FOR OPLAN PAALALA-IWAS PAPUTOK
Magpet, Cotabato (29 December 2025) — In line with Oplan Paalala: Iwas Paputok and upon the directive of the Provincial Fire Marshal, FSUPT Reginald L. Legaste, DSC, the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Magpet, led by SFO4 Nuyen C. Basan, Acting Municipal Fire Marshal, has intensified its inspection and monitoring of firecracker businesses in the municipality.
Business owners were directed to install laminated “No Smoking / No Testing” signages, preferably luminous and with standard, readable font sizes. A strict one-meter barricade between firecracker displays and consumers was also directed to be enforced to prevent accidental ignition.
Additionally, BFP Magpet personnel deployed at display are are tasked to regularly ensure that water buckets are filled, no curtains or other flammable materials are hanging, and required safety signages are properly posted.
These proactive measures aim to reduce fire incidents and ensure a safe and injury-free celebration for the community during the holiday season.
