MAGPET MUNICIPAL POLICE STATION Through the leadership of PCPT LEONARDO C BARIQUET JR ., Officer-in-Charge of Magpet Municipal Police Station, a successful manhunt operation led to the arrest of , a Top 10 Regional, Top 8 Provincial, and Top 2 Municipal Most Wanted Person, on September 4, 2026, at 7:35 PM in Purok 5, Barangay Balite, Magpet, Cotabato.
The operation was carried out by the Tracker Team of Magpet MPS in coordination with the Cotabato Police Provincial OfficeโProvincial Intelligence Unit (CPPO-PIU), PIT North Cotabato, and Regional Intelligence Unit 12 (RIU 12).
, 52 years old, a farmer and resident of Barangay Balite, was arrested by virtue of a Warrant of Arrest for the crime of Murder (Article 248 of the Revised Penal Code) under Criminal Case No. CR-KID-9504-2026. The warrant was issued on June 17, 2026 by Hon. Vicente Cuanang Dumbrigue, Presiding Judge of the Regional Trial Court, Kidapawan City, with no bail recommended.
During the implementation of the warrant, the operating team complied with A.M. No. 21-06-08-SC (Rules on the Use of Body-Worn Cameras in the Ex*****on of Warrants) by utilizing one body-worn camera and one alternative recording device. The accused was informed of the reason for his arrest and was duly apprised of his constitutional rights under the Miranda Doctrine in a language known to him.
Following the arrest, the accused was brought to Magpet Municipal Police Station for proper booking, medical examination, and temporary detention. The warrant of arrest will be returned to the issuing court pending the issuance of a commitment order.
This successful operation reflects the unwavering commitment of the Philippine National Police to intensify manhunt operations, ensure the arrest of wanted persons, and uphold peace, justice, and public safety in the Municipality of Magpet.
