The theme "Filipino Graduates: Prepared to Lead with Competence and Character" is a powerful reminder that while your skills (competence) will get you in the door, your heart (character) is what will keep you in the room.

To our elementary graduates, today marks the end of your first big chapter. You’ve learned how to read, solve problems, and work together. But more importantly, you’ve begun to learn who you are.

You are now equipped with the tools to handle the challenges of the secondary level in education. Stay curious and never stop asking "why."

In a world where you can be anything, be kind. Being a leader doesn't mean being the loudest; it means being the one who helps others when they stumble.

PLEASE READ THE MEMORANDUM

1. This clarifies the implementation of the work-from-home (WFH) arrangement every Friday under DepEd Memorandum (DM) No. 018, s. 2026 (Implementation of Energy Conservation Protocols and Flexible Work Arrangements in the Department of Education Pursuant to Memorandum Circular No. 114), which adopts a four-day onsite work schedule from Monday to Thursday and designates Friday as the common WFH day.

2. The WH arrangement applies only to nonteaching and related-teaching personnel in DepEd offices. Teaching personnel shall continue to follow their existing class schedules to ensure uninterrupted classes and end-of-school-year (EOSY) activities.

3. The Memorandum Circular No. 114, s. 2026 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁 𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗹-𝗯𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗹.
The WFH provision under DepEd No. 004, s. 2025 (Guidelines on the Adoption of the Flexible Work Arrangement in the Department of Education) for school-based nonteaching and related-teaching personnel is temporarily suspended until further notice to ensure the orderly conduct of EOSY activities.

4. All other provisions of DM 018, s. 2026 shall remain in effect.

Info-FEATURES | MagNorth Hosts and Opens MagsAA Meet 2025

Magsaysay CES — Under the blazing sun and bright skies, the hopes of every athlete and coach burned just as fiercely—for gold, redemption, and a coveted spot in the upcoming Davao del Sur Division Athletic Association Meet. This year's Magsaysay Athletic Association Meet is proudly hosted by the Magsaysay North District.

The event was graced by top-tier officials from the Department of Education: Dr. Lilibeth Torres, District Supervisor of Magsaysay North; Dr. Flor Ann Cosare, District Supervisor of Magsaysay South; and representatives from the Municipal LGU of Magsaysay led by Mayor Arthur Davin. Also in attendance were Councilors Enrique Evangelista and Douglas Corpuz, Punong Barangay Christopher Baylosis of Poblacion, District Sports Officers Mr. Ariel Salip (South) and Mr. Ariel Joy Juaton (North), along with players, coaches, tournament managers, and technical officials from every sporting event.

In her address, Dr. Cosare expressed her hopes for a significantly improved performance from the athletes, looking forward to the redemption that MagsAA seeks in the upcoming DavSurDAA, which will be hosted this year by Mayor Jose Nelson Sala, Jr. and his lead municipality, Santa Cruz, Davao del Sur.

Mayor Davin, meanwhile, reminded players to wholeheartedly accept the outcomes of every game they play. He emphasized that every victory must be earned with dignity, and every defeat embraced with grace and humility. For him, this is what truly defines an athlete—not just in sports, but in life.

In her speech, Dr. Torres expressed her deepest appreciation to the people behind this event, from the District Sports Officers, the tournament managers and technical officials, the coaches, and to the support of the school heads of Magsaysay in ensuring that this event comes to success.

To the athletes, coaches, tournament officials and managers, our wishes of luck and success.

Info-FEATURES| Kialegnon Educators Honored in Municipal-Wide Teachers’ Day Celebration

In a vibrant display of gratitude and community spirit, the Municipality of Magsaysay hosted a municipal-wide Teachers’ Day celebration on October 9, 2025, at the Magsaysay Municipal Gymnasium. The event brought together teaching and non-teaching personnel from both public and private elementary and secondary schools across the municipality.

The celebration commenced with a solemn Holy Mass presided over by Rev. Fr. Kristian Peter Edwyn Dorilag, DCD of Sto. Niño Parish. This was followed by an opening program that paid tribute to educators who have demonstrated exemplary service and those who have dedicated over three decades to the Department of Education.

Among the distinguished guests were Schools Division Superintendent Lorenzo Mendoza, CESO V; Municipal Mayor Engr. Arthur Davin; Vice Mayor Ronie Sarande; members of the Municipal Council; 2nd District Board Member Dyane Giduquio-Idulsa; Dr. Flor Ann Cosare, Magsaysay South District Supervisor; and Dr. Lilibeth Torres, Magsaysay North District Supervisor.

In his keynote address, SDS Mendoza shared encouraging updates on the 2023 Performance-Based Bonus (PBB), which is currently in process, and highlighted the promising prospects of the Expanded Career Progression for educators. Mayor Davin reflected on the historical significance of Teachers’ Day and emphasized the vital role of teachers in shaping the future of young Kialegnons.

Statements of gratitude and heartfelt salute to the teachers and stakeholders were expressed by Dr. Cosare and Dr. Torres, recognizing their tireless dedication to education and community development. Board Member Dyane Giduquio-Idulsa also conveyed the Provincial Government’s unwavering support and appreciation for the teaching force, speaking on behalf of Governor Yvonne Roña Cagas, whose leadership continues to champion education across Davao del Sur.

The event also featured a series of fellowship meals sponsored by the Local Government Unit, exciting raffle draws, and a surprise impromptu stand-up comedy skit led by Cris Aquino and Jeffrey “Jorge Butoy” Belarmino of Barayong National High School, which brought waves of laughter and joy to the crowd—reminding everyone of the lighthearted camaraderie that thrives within the teaching community.

The celebration served not only as a recognition of the educators’ dedication but also as a reaffirmation of the community’s commitment to uplifting the teaching profession.
