ROTC 5th Formation | March 7, 2026
The MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 5th ROTC Formation on March 7, 2026, beginning with the Assembly of Troops and Attendance from 0700H to 0800H, setting the tone for another meaningful day of training, discipline, and leadership development among the cadets.
A significant highlight of the formation was the visit of the newly installed Commandant, LTC FRANCISCO BUTCH CANZADO ARM (GSC) PA, Commander of the 5th Mechanized Battalion. He was warmly welcomed by Admin NCO CPL Joely I. Tumaob II (INF) PA, ROTC Coordinator Riza G. Remollo, the Training Staff, Advance ROTC Officers, and the Basic Cadets and Cadettes of the MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit.
In line with the nationwide celebration of National ROTC Month, the unit proudly participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony, which also served as part of the opening celebration of ROTC Month. This activity symbolized patriotism, unity, and the collective commitment of ROTC units across the country to continue shaping responsible and service-oriented youth.
Following the ceremony, the Commandant delivered an inspiring message to the cadets, emphasizing the importance of discipline, leadership, and dedication to service. The ROTC Coordinator also shared words of encouragement, reminding the cadets of their important role as future leaders and contributors to nation-building.
The cadets also watched the video message of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (DCS for RFD G9), MGEN GEROLD N. GAGAN PAF. This was followed by the message of the Chief of Staff, AFP, GEN ROMEO BRAWNER JR., which was delivered by the Commandant in commemoration of National ROTC Month with the theme:
“ROTC: Shaping Disciplined Patriots, Stewards of Nation Building, and Pillars of National Security.”
The morning session continued with an informative lecture on the Evolution of Military History delivered by CDT LTC JANE EYRE MOLIJON, 1CL, from 1000H to 1130H. The lecture provided cadets with valuable insights into the development of military systems, traditions, and strategies throughout history. This was followed by a lunch break from 1130H to 1230H.
During the afternoon session (1300H–1600H), the 1st Battalion conducted a Ceremonial Parade and Arrival of Honors, while other companies and platoons carried out their respective training activities to further enhance their skills, coordination, and mastery of drills and ceremonies.
The formation concluded with the Sign-Out Attendance through the ROTCMIS QR Code System from 1600H to 1700H, officially ending another productive day of ROTC training that strengthened discipline, leadership, unity, and camaraderie among the cadets of the MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit.
