ROTC 5th Formation | March 7, 2026

The MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit successfully conducted its 5th ROTC Formation on March 7, 2026, beginning with the Assembly of Troops and Attendance from 0700H to 0800H, setting the tone for another meaningful day of training, discipline, and leadership development among the cadets.

A significant highlight of the formation was the visit of the newly installed Commandant, LTC FRANCISCO BUTCH CANZADO ARM (GSC) PA, Commander of the 5th Mechanized Battalion. He was warmly welcomed by Admin NCO CPL Joely I. Tumaob II (INF) PA, ROTC Coordinator Riza G. Remollo, the Training Staff, Advance ROTC Officers, and the Basic Cadets and Cadettes of the MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit.

In line with the nationwide celebration of National ROTC Month, the unit proudly participated in the Simultaneous Flag Raising Ceremony, which also served as part of the opening celebration of ROTC Month. This activity symbolized patriotism, unity, and the collective commitment of ROTC units across the country to continue shaping responsible and service-oriented youth.

Following the ceremony, the Commandant delivered an inspiring message to the cadets, emphasizing the importance of discipline, leadership, and dedication to service. The ROTC Coordinator also shared words of encouragement, reminding the cadets of their important role as future leaders and contributors to nation-building.

The cadets also watched the video message of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Reservist and Retiree Affairs (DCS for RFD G9), MGEN GEROLD N. GAGAN PAF. This was followed by the message of the Chief of Staff, AFP, GEN ROMEO BRAWNER JR., which was delivered by the Commandant in commemoration of National ROTC Month with the theme:
“ROTC: Shaping Disciplined Patriots, Stewards of Nation Building, and Pillars of National Security.”

The morning session continued with an informative lecture on the Evolution of Military History delivered by CDT LTC JANE EYRE MOLIJON, 1CL, from 1000H to 1130H. The lecture provided cadets with valuable insights into the development of military systems, traditions, and strategies throughout history. This was followed by a lunch break from 1130H to 1230H.

During the afternoon session (1300H–1600H), the 1st Battalion conducted a Ceremonial Parade and Arrival of Honors, while other companies and platoons carried out their respective training activities to further enhance their skills, coordination, and mastery of drills and ceremonies.

The formation concluded with the Sign-Out Attendance through the ROTCMIS QR Code System from 1600H to 1700H, officially ending another productive day of ROTC training that strengthened discipline, leadership, unity, and camaraderie among the cadets of the MSU–MCEST ROTC Unit.

The day commenced with the assembly of troops and attendance via the QR Code System from 1230H to 1300H.

This was followed by an insightful and timely orientation on terrorism in the country, conducted by the National Intelligence Coordinating Agency (NICA)Lead by Director Candido P Bontogon Jr., The session was highly engaging, with NICA representatives openly addressing the cadets’ questions and providing in-depth discussion on the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) and its front organizations. The orientation highlighted how these groups operate, their deceptive recruitment tactics, and their underground and aboveground units that exploit the youth and communities, the lecture ended at 1500H.

This was also followed by a lecture on Followership 2 this was delivered by CDT LTC Ahron Lee T Delmo, 1CL, followed by Drills and Ceremonies 2 facilitated by CDT COL Rhyll Jay P Siarot. After the lectures, General Instructions were given, leading to area polishing to reduce waste and maintain campus cleanliness. The formation concluded with an orderly sign-out using the QR Code System reinforcing discipline, awareness, and shared responsibility throughout the activity.

The 3rd Formation of the 2nd Semester of the MSU-Maigo College of Education, Science and Technology ROTC Unit was successfully conducted on February 21, 2026, demonstrating discipline, coordination, and active participation among the cadets. The activity reflected the unit’s continued commitment to excellence, teamwork, and leadership development.

The formation commenced at 0630H with the assembly of troops, ensuring that all personnel were properly formed and prepared for the day’s scheduled training. This was followed by attendance checking from 0640H to 0700H, facilitated through the QR Code system to ensure accuracy and accountability among the ranks.

Subsequently, the Training Staff and Advance ROTC Officers simultaneously conducted field instruction focused on enhancing the cadets’ fundamental military skills, leadership competencies, and practical application of ROTC principles. At the same time, cadets assigned to comprehensive training underwent intensive and continuous exercises designed to further strengthen teamwork, discipline, and operational efficiency. These activities were carried out in an organized and systematic manner and continued until 1100H.

Upon completion of all training activities, the cadets proceeded with area polishing, emphasizing cleanliness, order, and responsibility within the training grounds. This was followed by the dissemination of general instructions, including important reminders and guidance to ensure alignment with unit standards and upcoming activities. The formation formally concluded with a systematic sign-out through the QR Code system, marking the orderly dismissal of troops.

Overall, the 3rd Formation highlighted the MSU-MCEST ROTC Unit’s unwavering commitment to discipline, efficiency, and teamwork, reflecting the true essence of ROTC training in shaping responsible, competent, and service-oriented future leaders.

🧹💪 Discipline beyond drills. Service beyond duty. 🇵🇭

At 3:00 PM on February 4, 2026, the MSU-MCEST Advance ROTC Officers, OP Company, and the Sponsors/Escorts actively participated in the Mandatory Campus-Wide Clean-Up Drive and Sanitation. The activity was carried out both inside and outside the campus, covering key areas such as the canal near the flagpole, the surroundings of the DHESS Building, the tennis court area, and other nearby spaces. This initiative clearly reflected the ROTC core values of discipline, teamwork, and shared responsibility, reinforcing the commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly learning environment.

ROTC Activity | January 31, 2026 🇵🇭

The ROTC training day on January 31, 2026 commenced with the Assembly of Troops from 0630H to 0640H, followed by attendance monitoring through the QR Code System from 0640H to 0800H, ensuring an organized and efficient accountability process.

At 0850H, the Advance ROTC Officers and Training Staff led a series of drill exercises aimed at strengthening discipline, teamwork, and coordination among the cadets. These drills continue to build the foundation of military bearing and unity within the unit.

At 0900H, Cpl. Joely I. Tumaob II delivered an informative lecture on Weapons Training, which was followed by a supervised practical exercise on the assembly and disassembly of the M16 rifle. Many cadets actively participated, demonstrating eagerness to learn and improve their technical knowledge and handling skills. The session concluded at 1045H, after which the cadets were given a short break.

Training resumed at 1100H with area polishing, where cadets took the initiative to clean and organize parts of the school campus before dismissal. This activity highlights not only their discipline but also their strong sense of responsibility, teamwork, and service to the school community.

The day concluded with the issuance of general instructions, followed by the sign-out and dismissal of troops through the QR Code System—marking yet another productive, well-disciplined, and meaningful ROTC training day.

Today, January 30, 2026, marks another meaningful milestone for the MSU-MCEST ROTC Unit as we successfully conducted a Courtesy Call and Information Briefing with the 10th Regional Community Defense Group (10RCDG) Group Commander, COL Bernard T. Ragus FS (GSC) PA.

The courtesy call was highlighted by a fruitful and inspiring conversation between our very supportive Campus Head, Atty. Jamaloden A. Basar, and the Group Commander — strengthening our shared commitment to developing disciplined, service-oriented youth leaders.

We are especially proud of CDT 1CL Ryll Jay P. Siarot, Corps Commander, who confidently and professionally delivered the Information Briefing. Your leadership, bearing, and excellence truly brought pride to the entire unit!
