TROPICAL STORM DOMENG SLIGHTLY INTENSIFIES WHILE MOVING NORTHWESTWARD OVER THE PHILIPPINE SEA.
Location of Center (10:00 AM):
The center of Tropical Storm DOMENG was estimated based on all available data at 1,265 km East of Southeastern Luzon (15.7ยฐN, 133.4ยฐE).
Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 85 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 105 km/h, and central pressure of 994 hPa
Present Movement:
Northwestward at 15 km/h
Extent of Tropical Cyclone Winds:
Strong to gale-force winds extend outwards up to 400 km from the center

Heavy Rainfall Outlook
DOMENG is less likely to directly affect the weather condition of the country in the next 24 hours. However, the southwesterly windflow enhanced by DOMENG may bring heavy rains over the western portion of the country beginning Sunday (31 May). A weather advisory may be issued tomorrow (30 May) in anticipation of the heavy rains.
Severe Winds
Based on the latest forecast track, the hoisting of tropical cyclone wind signal over Extreme Northern Luzon is less likely, but not ruled out.
The enhancement of the southwesterly windflow will bring strong to gale-force gusts over the following areas (especially in coastal and upland areas exposed to winds):
โข Tomorrow (30 May): Most of Visayas, Batanes, Cagayan, Pangasinan, Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro, Oriental Mindoro, Palawan, Romblon, Marinduque, Masbate, Albay, Sorsogon, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Surigao del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental
โข Sunday (31 May): Most of Visayas, Batanes, Cagayan, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA, Bicol Region, Zamboanga del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Camiguin, Agusan del Norte, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Sarangani, Davao Occidental, and Davao Oriental.
HAZARDS AFFECTING COASTAL WATERS
24-Hour Sea Condition Outlook
Up to moderate seas over the following coastal waters:
โข Up to 2.0 m: The eastern seaboard of Cagayan, Isabela, Eastern Samar, and Dinagat Islands; the northern and eastern seaboards of Batanes, Catanduanes, and Northern Samar; the eastern and southern seaboards of Davao Oriental.
โข Mariners of motorbancas and similarly sized vessels are advised to take precautionary measures while venturing out to sea and, if possible, avoid navigation under these conditions.
Other coastal waters have forecast wave heights of less than 2.0 m.
TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK
โข It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the forecast confidence cone. Refer to โOther Hazards affecting Land Areasโ for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
โข Tropical Storm DOMENG will continue moving generally northwestward until Sunday (31 May) before turning north northwestward to northeastward for the remaining forecast period. This tropical cyclone is less likely to make landfall over the country. DOMENG will likely exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Monday (01 June).
โข DOMENG will continue to intensify and may reach typhoon category tomorrow (30 May) while remaining over the Philippine Sea. Afterwards, it will steadily weaken.
Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. For heavy rainfall warnings, thunderstorm/rainfall advisories, and other severe weather information specific to your area, please monitor products issued by your local PAGASA Regional Services Division.
