The water pipes are here. These will be used in the restoration of the water system in Mainit.

Per Mayor Crisanta Mondano's instruction to the head of offices in the meeting this morning, water restoration is the Number 1 priority of the LGU.

The Engineering and Waterworks teams have been working on the issue since last week. Rest assured, the entire team on the ground is continuing and doing their tasks so we will have our water back, in our households, very soon.

With the water crisis that we are facing due to the effects of TS Basyang (i.e., busted water pipes and water source), LGU-Mainit is adopting a temporary schedule and rationing of water in poblacion Mainit, effective immediately:
> 6:00 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.
> 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.
> 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m.

Please note that this schedule is only temporary until we stabilize the Candance source and restore the water pipes, which were badly damaged.

Rest assured, our team is working double time in order to restore our water system the soonest possible time.

The Local Government Unit of Mainit, through the Municipal Social Welfare & Dev’t office, has already released relief supplies to families with totally damaged houses caused by TS Basyang.

Update on the ground:
Hapit na gajud! Tag testingan na nan ato mga engineers an tubig. Mag-sumpay nasab sila kuman nan pipe pasingud na sa reservoir.

Note: This is a temporary and quick fix to the water supply interruption caused by Basyang.

Endless thanks to the technical working team for working tirelessly to fix the situation.

Update on the ground:
To replace the busted pipes from the old water source, some of which I’ve posted yesterday, will definitely take time. So the technical working group created a MAKESHIFT and TEMPORARY solution just so we will have water in our households very soon.

I’ve walked 1.5km, passed hills, fallen trees and creeks, to show you what’s being done and to get to the ‘temporary’ new source of our water.
