𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐋𝐆𝐔𝐬 𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐢𝐞𝐝 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐛𝐚𝐲𝐁𝐀𝐘𝐀𝐍𝐈 𝐀𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐬!

Last September 18, 2025, DILG Field Office Staff together with the Project Evaluation Officers, Technical Engineers and Project Development and Management Unit of DILG XII visited the municipality to validate technical documents compared to the uploaded documents on the SubayBAYAN Portal.

The qualification was made possible through the collaborative efforts of different offices such as the Office of the Municipal Accountant, Municipal Planning and Development Office, Municipal Local Government Operations Office, Office of the Municipal Engineer and Building Official and with the proactive leadership of our Municipal Mayor Hon. James Basquinez Reganit!

𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐑𝐨𝐚𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐡𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭

With the objective of significantly reducing the number of accident, improve accessibility and connectivity and boost economic development, the Office of the Governor in the leadership of Gov. Rogelio "Ruel" D. Pacquiao - Sarangani Province allocated an amount of ₱72,734.00 per barangay as fuel subsidy to improve/upgrade/rehabilitate barangay roads and site development.

The said project was implemented at Brgy. Malalag last August 19-22, 2025 and August 26, 2025 for the gravelling of barangay road.
Heavy Equipment and manpower was provided by the Local Government Unit of Maitum supported by the BLGU spearheaded by Hon. Giovanni B. Nacionales.

The said project was implemented at Brgy. Upo last August 13-15, 2025 which covered the improvement of Sugpang Road leading to Henry Mulok Reisland Jr. Elementary School and Luyong Road.

Office of the Municipal Engineer and Building Official attends Seminar – Workshop on the National Building Code of the Philippines (PD 1096)

Last August 18-22, 2025, the Philippine Association of Building Officials, Inc. (PABO) in partnership with DPWH and NBCDO conducted a seminar-workshop on the NBCP held at Boracay Island, Malay, Aklan. The seminar encompasses key topics on the enforcement of NBCP.

Speakers reiterated that codes are mandatory requirement while standards are best practices in the industry and they are also referred in the Codes to set the minimum requirements for the design of systems, either structural, mechanical, electrical and etc. The National Building Code and the Fire Code or any code may have requirements that are not the same, but the most stringent requirement should apply.

The 5-day seminar ended with a 50-item examination which summarizes key points including actual problems in the enforcement of the NBCP.

The implementation of the projects has already commenced for both Barangay Bati-an and Barangay Zion, while the commencement is nearing for the other 17 barangays. Last August 7, 2025, Municipal Mayor, Hon. James Mark B. Reganit called for a meeting with the 19 Punong Barangays and Barangay Secretaries graced by the former Mayor Alexander Bryan Reganit together with DILG, OMAg, MASSO, MENRO, Tourism and MEO.

Discussions were made to ensure that the implementation can start immediately as well as to address concerns from barangays who also expressed their commitment in the success of these projects.

Hon. James Mark Reganit also extended his gratitude for the foregoing efforts of each department and barangay and urged them to keep up the good work for a better and more progressive Maitum.

𝐓𝐎𝐏𝐎𝐆𝐑𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐈𝐂 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐕𝐄𝐘 | 𝐉𝐮𝐥𝐲 𝟐𝟓-𝟐𝟕, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓

Maitum is undergoing the necessary processes for the concreting of six (6) farm-to-market roads funded under the Local Government Support Fund - Support for Barangay Development Program (LGSF-SBDP) amounting to Php 2,500,000.00 per barangay.

As part of the preparation, last July 25-27, 2025, topographic surveys were conducted spearheaded by Engr. Milrose G. Costales-Dela Cuadra for the concreting of farm-to-market road for:
Barangay Maguling
Barangay New La Union
Barangay Mindupok
Barangay Kalaneg
Barangay Kalaong
Barangay Old Poblacion

Topographic survey provide a detailed and accurate map of a site showing the natural features and elevation data. It is also used to calculate the cut and fill volumes for earthworks and quantities for excavation, backfill and material movement.
