UNLEASHING WORKPLACE EFFICIENCY: MMDA'S 5S SEMINARS CULTIVATE A CULTURE OF EXCELLENCE

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) recently concluded a transformative series of 5S in the Workplace seminars, marking a significant leap forward in organizational efficiency. Organized by the Staff Development Division under the Administrative Service, these four training batches empowered MMDA employees with essential workplace skills, fostering a culture of excellence.

Renowned professor Dr. Maria Elena Valenzuela, specializing in Business and Public Administration from Manuel L. Quezon University, led the sessions. Dr. Valenzuela provided in-depth training on the 5S methodology: Sort, Set in Order, Shine, Standardize, and Sustain. Participants delved into practical strategies for decluttering workspaces, streamlining processes, and promoting a clean and organized environment.

Beyond decluttering, the seminar explored the integration of ISO 9001:2008 standards and auditing processes into 5S in the Workplace. This valuable training empowered employees to identify and address the underlying causes of suboptimal performance, leading to a more robust and standardized approach to quality management.

This was initiated by the MMDA officials thru the Training Advocacy Committee of Quality Management System (QMS) and the Staff Development Division team. Their vision for a more efficient workplace, combined with the guidance and leadership of the MMDA Officials ensured the success of these impactful seminars.

The MMDA recognizes the importance of these training programs as cornerstones of continuous improvement and professional development.
