Join 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐀𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐃𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐀𝐠𝐧𝐞𝐬 𝐋𝐨𝐜𝐬𝐢𝐧 as she traces 𝑻𝒉𝒆 𝑷𝒂𝒕𝒉 𝒕𝒐 𝑵𝒆𝒐-𝑬𝒕𝒉𝒏𝒊𝒄 𝑪𝒉𝒐𝒓𝒆𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒉𝒚 — from her early exposure to Filipino dance traditions and formal training to the artistic process behind her distinct movement language. She will also share stories behind key works Igorot, Bagobo, and Moslem, and her latest exploration into Neo-Ethnic Tap Dance.

𝑃𝑎𝑚𝑎𝑛𝑎𝑛𝑔 𝑃𝑖𝑙𝑖𝑝𝑖𝑛𝑜 is a revitalized heritage education series rooted in the collections of Ayala Museum and Filipinas Heritage Library (FHL). It highlights how cultural inheritance continues to shape Filipino identity and offers new ways of understanding our evolving heritage.

The shadows met the light during our exclusive screening of the 1995 documentary, 𝘿𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘾𝙧𝙞𝙢𝙨𝙤𝙣 𝙎𝙪𝙣: 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙍𝙚-𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘽𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙈𝙖𝙣𝙞𝙡𝙖. It was a powerful evening of storytelling that left us all with much to ponder and much to carry forward.

Watch the talkback session featuring the director and writer of the film, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗧𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗥𝗲𝗷𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗻, and 𝗠𝗿. 𝗝𝗼𝘀𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗯𝗮𝗿𝗿𝘂𝘀 of Memorare Manila 1945 Foundation, whose insights provided a profound layer of context to the history and artistry presented on screen.

It was made even more meaningful by the presence of Ambassador Isabel Caro Wilson, one of the survivors whose story is told in the film, joined by members of Memorare Manila and descendants of fellow survivors. We thank everyone who joined the conversation and shared in this cinematic journey.

This event was a special session of the 𝗥𝗼𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗸 𝗛𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲𝘀 that commemorate FHL's longtime patron, Mr. Roderick Hall, who built a substantial collection of books and materials on World War II in the Philippines. Each talk in the lecture series promotes a uniquely Filipino experience of World War II and how the legacy of the war continues to be felt in present times.
