This image from the Exhibition | Between Two Worlds: A Philippine Diary, 80 Years Ago—by Shinichi Komatsu captures an encounter between an American soldier and a wounded Japanese soldier that serve as a reminder that amid violence, acts of kindness still cross enemy lines and offers a different perspective on war. Catch the exhibition before it closes on August 16, 2026.

This program is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Between Two Worlds: A Philippine Diary, 80 Years Ago—by Shinichi Komatsu and in commemoration of the 70th Anniversary of Philippines-Japan Friendship, with the support of the Toshiba International Foundation and the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines. Co-curated with Dr. Karl Ian Cheng Chua and Shiko Komatsu, this program also marks a significant year for both the Filipinas Heritage Library and Ayala Foundation as they celebrate their 30th and 65th anniversaries, respectively.
