DTI, TikTok empower 150 MSMEs through UNLAD LOKAL program
PAMPANGA, July 29, 2025 — Around 150 micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Pampanga and nearby provinces took a deep dive into the world of digital entrepreneurship through a learning workshop under the UNLAD LOKAL project, jointly organized by the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and TikTok Shop Philippines.
Held as part of DTI’s push to strengthen e-commerce capabilities among local enterprises, the workshop opened with an overview of the evolving digital marketplace and a session on TikTok Shop 101. Participants were guided through key features such as seller onboarding, affiliate marketing, and livestream selling—complete with a live demonstration that showcased real-time engagement strategies.
The initiative is in line with the directive of DTI Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque and is implemented in collaboration with the Department's Regional Operations Group, supported by its Bureau of Market Development, Promotions, and OTOP (BMDPO).
Afternoon sessions delved deeper into digital content strategy, ad placements, and boosting campaign visibility. Attendees were also inspired by success stories of actual TikTok Shop sellers who turned online content into thriving businesses.
Participants left the workshop equipped with practical knowledge and digital tools to thrive in the e-commerce space. As part of the Bagong Pilipinas vision, UNLAD LOKAL remains a crucial platform in DTI’s mission to build a digitally empowered and inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystem.
Following the success of the Metro Manila and Luzon legs, DTI and TikTok are set to bring the UNLAD LOKAL learning sessions to MSMEs in the Visayas and Mindanao regions in the coming months.
