Dr. Onofre H. Campo High School to Bolster School Gardens with New SSIP Cistern Project

BATASAN, MAKILALA- Department of Agriculture, Bureau of Soils and Water Management conducts a project briefing for the Small-Scale Irrigation Project (SSIP) implementation, leading to significant progress in agricultural sustainability and food security for schools.

The briefing for the development of the upland irrigation system and small water irrigation and impounding project identified Dr. Onofre H. Campo High School as the primary beneficiary of a new cistern system. The facility is specifically intended to meet the irrigation requirements of the school's junior high school (JHS) and senior high school (SHS) vegetable gardens.

The success of this project's inception demonstrates strong community and inter-agency collaboration. The school administration spearheaded by Sir Erwin M. Plana is grateful to BLGU-Batasan spearheaded by Hon. Rogelio T. Virador Sr. for their unwavering support, as well as the PTA officials spearheaded by Mr. Jhebran Delima for their dedicated advocacy on behalf of the students. Also, special recognition is given to the Department of Agriculture (DA) focal points, ​Engr. Naim S. Abdulganie- WRDO1, Hazel E. Cacho - CDO 2, Wilson C. Gaton - CDO 1 and Aisa S. Lano - Municipal Agricultural Technologist, whose technical expertise and proactive coordination were instrumental in bringing this critical infrastructure to the school.

Truly, this collaborative effort not only improves the learning environment, but it also fosters a sense of community among various stakeholders. Together, they have demonstrated how community involvement can lead to significant improvements in education.

Today is a day to express our gratitude to God for guiding our dear graduates and completers through all the hardships, learnings, and successes that have shaped them into who they are today. This baccalaureate is a reminder that the successes they have achieved today are not only the result of hard work but also of faith and the support of the people who have been with them on their way.

In the quiet moments of reflection and introspection, we can begin to discover the reasons behind our existence, the value of the blessings in our lives, and the strength needed to overcome the challenges in life. By allowing ourselves moments of reflection and introspection, we can begin to hear God's voice and realize that God has been speaking to us all along through the events in our lives, the problems we face, and the people who surround us.
