My heartfelt gratitude to the Board of Directors, Managers, and every member of the various cooperatives that comprise the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗹 (𝗠𝗖𝗗𝗖) of Makilala, Cotabato, for their enthusiastic collaboration with me in promoting social progress through cooperativism.

Thank you also, Mayor Armando M. Quibod, for the support you have given to the cooperative sector in this municipality.
Yesterday, the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA) conducted the “𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓” at Paraiso Verde, Koronadal City to recognize cooperatives and cooperative officers in Region 12 that have demonstrated exemplary performances and provided outstanding services to their members and to the community. And on this occasion, the MCDC of Makilala, Cotabato, garnered the following awards, to wit:

In line with the continuous effort to empower local cooperatives and ensure effective leadership, the 𝗠𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗽𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗲 facilitated the “𝚂𝚝𝚛𝚎𝚗𝚐𝚝𝚑𝚎𝚗𝚒𝚗𝚐 𝚘𝚏 𝙱𝚘𝚊𝚛𝚍 𝚘𝚏 𝙳𝚒𝚛𝚎𝚌𝚝𝚘𝚛𝚜 𝚏𝚘𝚛 𝙶𝚘𝚘𝚍 𝙶𝚘𝚟𝚎𝚛𝚗𝚊𝚗𝚌𝚎 𝚘𝚏 𝙲𝚘𝚘𝚙𝚎𝚛𝚊𝚝𝚒𝚟𝚎𝚜” training held on August 12, 2025, at Makilala, Cotabato.

This capacity-building activity aimed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and ethical responsibility of cooperative leaders in fulfilling their mandates and making sound decisions for the welfare of their members.

The event featured insightful discussions from distinguished speakers:

1. 𝗥𝗲𝗺𝘂𝘀 𝗩. 𝗩𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗰𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗼, 𝗗𝗣𝗔 – Former Municipal Cooperative Development Officer, who shared his expertise on cooperative governance, leadership dynamics, and the importance of transparency and accountability.

2. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗹𝗼𝘂 𝗥. 𝗝𝘂𝘀𝗶 – Senior Cooperative Development Specialist from the Cooperative Development Authority (CDA), who tackled policies, compliance requirements, and strategies to strengthen cooperative performance.

3. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗖. 𝗔𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮 – Chief Executive Officer of Makilala Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MakMPC), who shared best practices and success stories in cooperative management and member engagement.

Participants from various cooperatives in Makilala actively engaged in the discussions, expressing their commitment to apply the learnings in their respective organizations.

Through this initiative, the LGU and partner agencies reaffirm their dedication to nurturing cooperative leaders who uphold good governance, accountability, and sustainable development for the community.

The Municipal Cooperative Development Council (MCDC) of Makilala convened for its **3rd Quarter Meeting** to strengthen local partnerships and discuss vital cooperative initiatives aimed at uplifting the lives of Makilala residents through cooperative development.

This gathering served as a platform to review current programs, address key issues, and align strategies to empower cooperatives across the municipality. Active participation from various cooperative leaders and stakeholders reflects the continued commitment to building an inclusive and sustainable local economy. Cooperation is our key to resilience and inclusive progress.
