✨ 48th National Disability Rights Week Celebration — Event Recap

​Last July 21, the Local Government Unit of Malay, through the Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), successfully hosted the celebration of the 48th National Disability Rights Week at the Manocmanoc Covered Court. It was a meaningful gathering focused on promoting inclusivity, accessibility, and empowerment across the entire community.

The event led by Mr. Jeecee V. Maming, Disability Affairs Officer II, set a welcoming tone with his opening message, which was followed by key messages of support from Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, CPA (Municipal Mayor),
Mr. Bert Andro Solidum (Social Worker, who spoke on behalf of MSWD Officer Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW), Mr. Danilo Delos Santos (Barangay Captain of Manocmanoc), and Mr. Randy Anthony A. Rebaldo (Disability Affairs Officer I, PDAO - Aklan).

​The program continued with the distribution of assistive devices to persons with disabilities, along with fun games and snacks for all participants.
The gathering wrapped up with closing remarks from Ms. Sherry N. Tumaob, PWD Malay Federation President, followed by lunch for all attendees. The entire event was seamlessly hosted by emcee Alyssa Mea E. Taunan.

And a special thanks to MDRRMO Malay providing on-site First Aid, emergency response, and medical assistance.

🎉 What an incredible 2 days! Look back at PROJECT DigiABLE! 💻✨

​The Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) of Malay, Aklan recently wrapped up PROJECT DigiABLE—a fun, interactive 2-day digital literacy training built just for Persons with Disabilities! 🚀

​Our participants leveled up their computer skills, explored the digital space, and mastered cool new tech tricks guided by expert trainers from DICT. From hands-on workshops to empowering sessions, it was two full days of learning, connection, and building tech confidence together! 🙌

​📍 Venue: Malay College, Balusbos, Malay, Aklan
🗓️ Date Held: July 22–23, 2026

​ A massive thank you to everyone who made this event a success led by PDAO head Mr. Jeecee Maming, with the full support of our active municipal mayor Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, CPA together with MSWD Officer Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW in partnership with JCI Aklan Kalantiao, with active DICT traineers Ms. Megue R. Gellegani and Ms. Hadasa A. Manalili.
And a special thanks to the College President of Malay College Dr. Orbel M. Canoy for the support and to use the venue for this event. Cheers to a more inclusive and digitally empowered Malay! 💙

A vibrant start to a week of unity, empowerment, and inclusion! 💙✨

​Last July 20, 2026, the Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) of Malay, proudly headed by Mr. Jeecee V. Maming (Disability Affairs Officer II), officially kicked off the 1st day of the 48th National Disability Rights Week with an exciting and meaningful program!

​Here are the highlights of our Day 1 celebration:

​📍 Part I – Opening Ceremony: Warm welcome message by PDAO Head Mr. Jeecee V. Maming, followed by inspiring messages from Municipal Mayor Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, CPA, Municipal Social Welfare and Development Officer Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW, and key guest speaker Mr. Randy Anthony A. Rebaldo (Disability Affairs Officer I, PDAO Aklan).

​📍 Part II – Service & Fun: Distribution of assistive devices, fun interactive games for our PWD participants, and shared snacks.

​📍 Part III – Recognition & Closing: Presentation of certificates and tokens of appreciation to our honored guests, capped off with closing remarks from PWD Malay Federation President Ms. Sherry N. Tumaob and masterfully guided by Emcee Alyssa Mea E. Taunan.

Special thanks to MDRRMO Malay for ensuring everyone's safety and well-being by providing the official First Aid Station throughout the event!

🎉 WE ARE OFFICIALLY UNDERWAY! 🎉

Celebrating strength, inclusion, and community spirit! 🎉 Disability Rights Week is officially underway in the Municipality of Malay!

​The Municipality of Malay comes alive as we celebrate the 1st day of the 48th National Disability Rights Week! Last July 20, 2026, with a theme RIGHTS FIRST, LEGISLATION FORWARD-STRATEGIC ACTION FOR EQUAL PARTICIPATION AND INCLUSIVE DEVELOPMENT.

The Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO), headed by Mr. Jeecee Maming, brought together our energetic PWD community, advocates, and local leaders for a memorable opening day.

The week’s festivities commenced with a solemn and uplifting Holy Mass officiated by Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Kenn Martin G. Estocado at St. Joseph the Worker Parish Church. Join us in making this week full of action, pride, and empowerment for everyone! 💙👏

Nakatanggap ng tig-₱2,000 financial assistance ang kabuuang 715 Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) mula sa 17 barangay ng Bayan ng Malay sa ilalim ng 1st Semester (January–June) Quarterly Financial Assistance Program ng Local Government Unit (LGU).

Isinagawa ang dalawang araw na payout noong Hulyo 23 at 24, 2026 sa pangunguna ng Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) sa pamumuno ni Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW, sa ilalim ng pamumuno ni Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista.

Katuwang sa programa ang Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) sa pangunguna ni Mr. Jecee V. Maming, kasama ang PWD Federation sa pamumuno ni Ms. Sherry N. Tumaob.

Upang maging maayos ang distribusyon, hinati sa dalawang araw at magkahiwalay na lugar ang payout. Noong Hulyo 23, tumanggap ng ayuda ang mga benepisyaryo mula sa unang cluster ng mga barangay sa Covered Court ng Brgy. Argao.

Samantala, noong Hulyo 24, ipinagpatuloy ang pamamahagi sa Covered Court ng Brgy. Balabag para sa mga benepisyaryo mula sa natitirang mga barangay.

Layunin ng programa na mabigyan ng karagdagang suporta ang mga PWD sa Malay bilang bahagi ng patuloy na serbisyong panlipunan ng lokal na pamahalaan.

- Ang mga PWD na kabilang lamang sa opisyal na listahan ang makakatanggap ng Quarterly Financial Assistance.
- Dalhin ang original PWD ID.
- Kung ang claimant o authorized representative ang kukuha, kinakailangang magdala ng isang (1) valid government-issued ID.
- Mangyaring dumating sa tamang oras upang mapabilis ang proseso ng payout.
