Cagayan de Oro City โ The Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office No. X (DOLE-X) conducted the Region-Wide Election Officers Training for the Conduct of Certification Election on September 23, 2026, at the DOLE-X 5th Floor Activity Center, strengthening the Departmentโs efforts to ensure transparent, credible, and fair labor proceedings.
The capacity-building activity aimed to enhance the knowledge and skills of designated Election Officers in administering and supervising pre-election, election, and post-election activities in accordance with existing labor laws, rules, and procedures. It also provided participants an opportunity to discuss operational concerns and share best practices in addressing election-related matters.
DOLE-X Regional Director Atty. Joffrey M. Suyao opened the training with welcoming remarks, highlighting the importance of professionalism, integrity, and accountability in the conduct of certification elections. Technical sessions were facilitated by DOLE-X Mediator-Arbiter Atty. Amor Condeo T. Bajarla and Labor and Employment Officer III Dundee E. Daing, who discussed the right to self-organization, the right to collective bargaining, and the mechanics of certification elections. The activity was also attended by DOLE-X Assistant Regional Director Nicanor V. Bon.
The training highlighted DOLEโs role in helping ensure that workers can exercise their constitutional right to self-organization through fair, transparent, orderly, and impartial proceedings. It also supports the Departmentโs continuing efforts, under the leadership of Secretary Francis โTolโ Tolentino, to strengthen labor relations services and promote industrial peace in Northern Mindanao.
