Pursuant to Proclamation No. 1006, s. 2025, Malacañang declares August 31, 2023 as a Regular Holiday in commemoration of National Heroes' Day.

DOLE reminds private sector employers and workers of the proper payment of wages on August 31, 2026(National Heroes' Day).

In line with the directive of Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to strengthen youth employment opportunities, the DOLE-X Bukidnon Provincial Field Office is set to conduct a two-day Government Internship Program (GIP) Orientation and Agreement Signing on August 24–25, 2026, officially welcoming 334 young beneficiaries into public service.

The orientation activities happened at two venues—Barangay 9, Malaybalay City, and North Poblacion, Maramag. The event marks the formal start of the interns' journey, equipping them with essential knowledge on workplace ethics, their rights and responsibilities, and the program’s administrative processes before deployment.

The 334 interns will be assigned to various national and provincial government agencies, the Office of the House of the Representatives, Local Government Units (LGUs) ang Barangay offices. This strategic distribution ensures that the youth contribute to and learn from different facets of local governance and public service delivery.

The GIP is a flagship program of DOLE aimed at providing young workers, particularly fresh graduates and first-time job seekers, with meaningful work experience in government service. The program aims to build a skilled and motivated workforce while instilling a sense of civic duty and discipline among the participants.

The DOLE Bukidnon Provincial Field Office remains steadfast in its mission to support the youth through sustained partnerships and responsive employment programs.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bukidnon Provincial Field Office, under its new leadership, has kicked off a series of courtesy visits to the province's top executives and local chief executives to strengthen partnerships and discuss key employment and livelihood initiatives for the coming year, in accordance with DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino’s mandate.

Officer-in-Charge Provincial Director Charlton James R. Busa led the delegation in meetings with Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil "Oneil" Roque, alongside the mayors of Baungon, Kibawe, and Valencia City, as well as the city administration of Malaybalay, at their respective offices across the province.

The discussions centered on reviewing the agency's accomplishments for the previous year while outlining priority projects and sectors that will benefit from DOLE’s continued support. Central to the talks were the agency's ongoing livelihood assistance programs and emergency employment initiatives, which are being implemented with the strong backing of local government partners.

A significant highlight of the visit was the introduction of a potential JobStart Philippines implementation in Malaybalay City. The program, which aims to provide youth with life skills training and internships, is being explored as a new avenue for addressing local youth unemployment.

The local chief executives welcomed the DOLE delegation, expressing their commitment to support the agency’s programs. In attendance during the respective meetings were Baungon Mayor Rogelio D. Jaraula, Kibawe Mayor Reynaldo Ang Rabanes, Valencia City Mayor Amie G. Galario, and Malaybalay City Administrator and PESO Manager Atty. Ana Marie R. Bergado.

The courtesy visits mark the beginning of a more aggressive and collaborative approach by DOLE Bukidnon to address the employment needs of the province, with a strong focus on sustainable livelihood, emergency response, and youth development.

In line with the directive of Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to intensify the promotion of sustainable livelihood opportunities, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Bukidnon Provincial Field Office, together with the Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc. as co-partner, successfully turned over a ₱500,000.00 livelihood project to the Dole Skyland Casisang Workers Union.

The turnover ceremony, held on August 24, 2026, formally launched the union's Rice Retailing Project under the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP). The assistance, granted under the DILP, is designed to provide the union members with a sustainable and stable source of income. The Rice Retailing Project aims to support the economic well-being of the workers and their families by establishing a community-based enterprise.

The event was attended by DOLE Bukidnon Field Office DILP Focal Mary Grace Carpentero, representatives from the Kasilak Development Foundation, Inc., and officers and members of the DOLE Skyland Casisang Workers Union. During the ceremony, officials underscored the importance of the partnership and the responsibility of the beneficiaries to ensure the project's success.

As the DOLE Skyland Casisang Workers Union embarks on this new venture, DOLE remains committed to providing guidance and support to ensure the project’s long-term success, reinforcing its mission of empowering communities through decent and sustainable livelihood opportunities.

The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE-X) Bukidnon Provincial Field Office convened all its employees and staff for a strategic Mid-Year Performance Assessment cm Team Building Activity on August 20, 2026, reinforcing its commitment to fostering a healthy workplace culture and amplifying operational productivity.

Held at the Tiad Exclusive Pool and whirlpool bath in Barangay San Jose, Malaybalay City, the one-day event served as a dual-purpose platform. It allowed the office to rigorously evaluate its accomplishments and deliverables for the first half of the year while simultaneously strengthening interpersonal dynamics among its workforce through structured group activities.

The first session featured a comprehensive performance audit, during which division chiefs and section heads presented progress reports on key DOLE programs, including employment facilitation, livelihood assistance, labor standards enforcement, and dispute resolution. The assessment identified best practices, addressed implementation bottlenecks, and set actionable strategies for the remaining quarters of the year.

The late afternoon was dedicated to team-building exercises facilitated by in-house coordinators. The activities were designed to enhance communication, trust, and problem-solving skills among staff—from administrative personnel to labor officers. Highlighting the spirit of camaraderie, employees participated in collaborative challenges that mirrored real-work scenarios, promoting adaptability and shared leadership.

DOLE-X Bukidnon under the leadership of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino remains steadfast in its vision of promoting decent and productive work for all Bukidnons. This mid-year activity reaffirms the office's dedication to maintaining a resilient, engaged, and high-performing workforce capable of adapting to the evolving needs of the province’s labor sector.
