A girl with a dream should not become a mother too soon!🫶

1 in every 10 babies born in the Philippines in 2024 was born to an adolescent mother. That share has remained virtually unchanged since 2018.

Behind this statistic are thousands of young women and men whose education, employment, and future aspirations have been shaped by becoming parents between the ages of 15 and 19.

At a validation workshop at ADB Headquarters, government representatives, civil society organizations, development partners, youth advocates, and adolescent mothers came together to review findings and shape recommendations for a forthcoming policy brief.

FAMILY PLANNING CARAVAN | IMPASUG-ONG, BUKIDNON

A successful Family Planning Caravan was conducted in Impasug-ong, Bukidnon.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Hon. Governor Rogelio P. Roque and Hon. Mayor Mai Okinlay, Municipal Mayor of Impasug-ong, for their valuable support in making this activity a success.

This joint initiative was made possible through the collaboration of the Provincial Health Office, Population and Development Division, and LGU Impasug-ong, together with our dedicated health workers, Barangay Service Point Officers (BSPOs), Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) of Sumilao, and everyone who contributed to the success of the activity.

Thank you for your commitment, partnership, and continued dedication to serving our communities. Together, let us continue promoting responsible parenthood, healthy families, and a better future for every family in Bukidnon.

Community and School-Based Teen Center Operators’ Forum

The Community and School-Based Teen Center Operators’ Forum was successfully conducted on August 26, 2026, at Delan’s Place Events and Catering, Mampaalong St., Malaybalay City, Bukidnon.

The forum brought together Teen Center Operators from various municipalities to share experiences, effective strategies, and good practices in managing teen centers. A Teen Center serves as an integrated, comprehensive, and one-stop-shop facility that provides adolescents and young people with appropriate information, skills, and services.

The activity highlighted the shared commitment to preventing, reducing, and preventing repeat teenage pregnancies, with the objectives of reducing by half the proportion of adolescents who have begun childbearing and reducing by half the proportion of repeat pregnancies.

Key sessions included the Teen Center Monitoring Tool and selected short films from the Commission on Population and Development – X (CPD-X), Identifying Risks Using the Rapid HEEADSSS Form by Roger A. Aspiras, PPO I, Systems Thinking to Support ISDN and Project 25@28 by Emily Marie Q. Estacio, PPO IV, Forms of Leadership Capital by Pascual Sale, PPO I, and AYSRH through QR Code by Joannie L. Rebote, PPO I.

The forum also featured meaningful sharing of insights and experiences from Community-Based Teen Center Operators, School-Based Teen Center Operators, and Teen Center/Youth Hub Operators, providing valuable perspectives on the unique practices and approaches of different LGUs.

Through collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and strengthened adolescent-friendly services, we continue to build responsive and supportive spaces where young people can access the information, skills, and services they need to make informed and responsible decisions.

Media Voices for a More Informed Bukidnon

A meaningful media engagement took place during the Scriptwriting & Broadcasting Competition as part of the 4th Bukidnon Press Freedom Week Celebration, conducted by the PGO-PAIA.

Our Head of Office, Ms. Emily Marie Estacio, was interviewed by various radio stations and media personalities about teenage pregnancy and other important Population and Development (PopDev) programs and concerns affecting adolescents, families, and communities.

Featured media partners included 97.7 Radyo Sincero Valencia, XFM Bukidnon, Juander Radyo Malaybalay 88.1 FM, 101.3 Super Bagting Bukidnon, DXDB Radyo Bandilyo, and DXIQ FM Love Radio.

Through the power of media and responsible broadcasting, we continue to inform, educate, and empower our communities—especially our young people.
