PNP, PARTNER AGENCIES ARREST 5 SUSPECTS, SEIZE NEARLY 95 KILOS OF DRUGS WITH P144.7-M SDP IN ONE-DAY OPS

Nearly 95 kilograms of suspected illegal drugs with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of P144.765 million were seized in separate operations conducted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and its partner agencies in Metro Manila, Western Visayas, and CALABARZON on September 1, 2026.

The biggest seizure was recorded at the Customs Secondary Inspection Area of the Customs International Arrival Area, Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 3 in Pasay City, where authorities recovered a combined 94.561 kilograms of suspected Ma*****na Kush with an SDP of P141.841 million.

The shipment was initially flagged during X-ray inspection after presenting a suspicious image. A subsequent K-9 screening indicated the possible presence of illegal drugs, leading to a manual inspection and the recovery of the suspected contraband. The seized items were turned over to the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Laboratory Service for proper documentation and disposition.

In Western Visayas, a buy-bust operation in Estancia, Iloilo resulted in the arrest of four individuals and the recovery of approximately 230 grams of suspected shabu, with an SDP of P1.564 million. Meanwhile, a separate operation in Batangas City led to the arrest of a 31-year-old male and the recovery of approximately 200 grams of suspected shabu, with an SDP of P1.36 million.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. underscored the importance of sustained coordination and vigilance in keeping illegal drugs from reaching communities.

โ€œMalaking bagay ang bawat successful operation dahil bawat nakukuhang droga ay isang pagkakataong hindi na ito makarating sa ating mga kababayan. We will continue working with our partner agencies, always within the bounds of the law and with respect for due process,โ€ PGen Nartatez said.

The operations form part of the PNPโ€™s continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which promotes coordinated and responsive police action against threats to public safety.

The PNP continues to support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening law enforcement efforts while upholding due process, accountability, and respect for the rights of all persons.

Through sustained operations and close coordination with partner agencies, the PNP remains committed to its mandate and to the โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested a high-value wanted person in Quezon City on September 1, 2026, strengthening efforts to locate individuals facing serious criminal charges and bring them before the proper judicial authorities.

Operatives of the Quezon City Police Districtโ€“Criminal Investigation and Detection Unit (QCPD-CIDU), in coordination with the Quezon City District Intelligence and Tactical Unit (QCDIT) and Regional Intelligence Unit-NCR (RIU-NCR), apprehended a 31-year-old male in Barangay Kamuning, Quezon City. He was identified as the No. 4 Most Wanted Person at the regional level and No. 2 Most Wanted Person at the district level.

The arrest stemmed from intelligence information provided by QCDIT and RIU-NCR, which led police operatives to the suspectโ€™s location. He was apprehended by virtue of a warrant of arrest for Sexual Assault under Article 266-A (2) of the Revised Penal Code and Statutory R**e under Article 266-A, Paragraph 1(D), as amended by Republic Acts Nos. 8353 and 11648. The Sexual Assault charge is bailable, while no bail was recommended for the Statutory R**e charge.

Following his arrest, the suspect was brought to the concerned police unit for documentation and proper processing. The warrant of arrest will be returned to the court of origin for appropriate action.

โ€œWanted persons facing serious criminal charges must be brought before the courts to answer for the allegations against them. We will sustain intelligence-driven efforts to locate and apprehend those sought by the law,โ€ PGen Nartatez said.

The accomplishment also supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, by strengthening intelligence-driven efforts against wanted persons and ensuring that police operations translate into concrete results.

As the PNP strengthens its efforts to protect vulnerable sectors and uphold the rule of law under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

CHECKPOINT OPERATION YIELDS โ‚ฑ1.7-MILLION SMUGGLED CI******ES IN COTABATO

A checkpoint operation in Cotabato led to the arrest of a 45-year-old businessman and the seizure of some 2,000 reams of suspected smuggled ci******es worth approximately โ‚ฑ1.71 million on August 29, 2026.

Police personnel from the Aleosan Municipal Police Station, together with the Police Intelligence Unit of Cotabato Police Provincial Office, Regional Intelligence Division 12, and STT Echo, intercepted an Isuzu Elf Re**er Van Truck in Barangay San Mateo, Aleosan, Cotabato.

The driver, identified only as alias โ€œMando,โ€ reportedly failed to stop when flagged down and instead continued driving, prompting the responding personnel to pursue and intercept the vehicle. The driver was subsequently taken into police custody, while the vehicle and its cargo were secured for proper disposition.

Authorities are preparing charges for alleged violations of Republic Act No. 10863, or the Customs Modernization and Tariff Act, and Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code for filing before the Office of the Provincial Prosecutor in Midsayap.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. said the operation demonstrates the importance of sustained police presence and coordination in preventing the movement of illicit goods.

โ€œWe will continue to strengthen our presence where it matters mostโ€”on the roads, in communities, and at points where illegal goods may pass. Simple lang ang objective: kung may kahina-hinalang galaw, our personnel must be ready to respond properly, lawfully, and professionally.โ€

The operation forms part of the PNPโ€™s continuing efforts to enhance field operations and inter-unit coordination under its Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO). These efforts support the administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in strengthening law enforcement and protecting legitimate businesses and communities from activities that undermine public safety and lawful commerce.

The PNP will continue to pursue enforcement measures while observing due process and the rights of all persons involved, consistent with its commitment to โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman.โ€

TEEN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGED R**E OF 13-YEAR-OLD IN PARAร‘AQUE

The Philippine National Police, under the command of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., arrested an 18-year-old male for alleged statutory r**e involving a 13-year-old girl in Barangay Santo Niรฑo, Paraรฑaque City, on August 29, 2026.

Personnel of Paraรฑaque City Police Station Sub-Station 3, together with barangay tanods, responded after the victimโ€™s father discovered the suspect inside the residence and learned of the alleged assault. The suspect was immediately apprehended and brought to the Paraรฑaque City Police Station, where he was turned over to the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) for investigation and proper disposition.

Initial investigation showed that the suspect allegedly lured the 13-year-old victim into a comfort room inside the residence, where the sexual assault allegedly occurred. After learning of the incident, the victimโ€™s father immediately sought assistance from barangay authorities, resulting in the suspectโ€™s arrest.

Formal charges for violation of Republic Act No. 11648, in relation to statutory r**e, and Republic Act No. 7610, or the Special Protection of Children Against Abuse, Exploitation, and Discrimination Act, are being prepared for filing against the arrested individual.

โ€œThis arrest demonstrates that the PNP will act decisively to protect children and hold those who prey on them accountable. Our police officers must remain vigilant, responsive, and committed to safeguarding the most vulnerable members of our communities,โ€ PGEN Nartatez said.

โ€œKapag may batang nangangailangan ng proteksiyon, hindi tayo dapat mag-atubili. Ang kaligtasan ng mga bata ay pananagutan nating lahat,โ€ he added.

The prompt response underscores the PNPโ€™s commitment to protecting vulnerable victims. This supports the PNP Focused Agenda, particularly Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which strengthens police response and action against crimes.

As the PNP strengthens its efforts to protect children and uphold community safety under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it assures the public of โ€œBagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat, at Nararamdaman.โ€

All four suspects were informed of their constitutional rights and will be subjected to the appropriate legal process.

The separate arrests form part of the PNPโ€™s continuing implementation of the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) under the PNP Focused Agenda, which promotes focused police action, stronger coordination, and the lawful ex*****on of court-issued warrants.

Chief PNP Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. emphasized that every police operation must remain firmly anchored on the law and due process.

โ€œWe will continue to look for those with standing warrants and bring them before the proper authorities. But in every arrest, I expect our personnel to do their job properlyโ€”firmly, peacefully, and within the law. We have a responsibility to enforce the law, and at the same time, to respect the rights of the person we are arresting,โ€ PGen Nartatez said.

The PNPโ€™s sustained operational efforts support President Ferdinand R.
