[๐ณ๐ถ๐ถ๐ฒ] Teenage Pregnancy Awareness Seminar and TB Caravan & HIV Awareness Seminar were successfully conducted on May 18, 2026, at the Barangay 9 Covered Court. The activity aimed to raise awareness among the youth and community regarding teenage pregnancy, tuberculosis (TB), HIV prevention, responsible decision-making, healthy lifestyles, and disease prevention.
The program was attended by barangay officials, health workers, invited speakers, youth leaders, and community residents who actively participated in the educational discussions and activities. HIV counseling and testing, as well as syphilis testing, were also conducted during the event to further promote early detection and self-protection.
Present during the activity were Barangay Officials headed by Hon. Dexter Maxileo P. Gamo, Punong Barangay, together with Ansawie P. Macadaag, Kagawad on Health, the Sangguniang Kabataan Council, health workers, invited speakers, youth, and community members.
Representing the City Health Office (CHO) were Marlon John T. Yongco โ STI, HIV and AIDS Coordinator; Fritzie Talatala, RN โ NTCP Nurse Coordinator; Demitrio T. Regidor, Jr. โ CBS Moderator/HIV Counselor; Mary Grace C. Gamo, RHM of Barangay 9; and Arlene S. Villegas, RHM of Barangay 9.
Also present were HRH-NHWSS personnel composed of Rhesa L. Lectaoa, RN; Bethel Faye B. Montemayor, RN; and Karl Danielle Damasco, RN.
From the Provincial Health Office (PHO), participants included Joseph Marben D. Gealon, RMT โ STI, HIV and AIDS Coordinator; Maricris P. Molate โ HIV Counselor; Renzo Robin Baconguis โ Case Finder, SHIP; and JoeCar Galendez โ Peer Moderator, SHIP.
The activity served as an important opportunity for the community to gain accurate health information, strengthen awareness on issues affecting the youth and public health, and encourage everyone to make informed and responsible choices toward building a safer and healthier community.
