Yesterday afternoon, personnel of the Malaybalay City Fire Station gathered for a simple yet meaningful fellowship to formally welcome back CINSP LLOYD M VILLAROYA as the City Fire Marshal of MCFS.

As a heartfelt gesture of support and appreciation, the personnel also prepared a surprise belated birthday celebration for CINSP VILLAROYA, whose assumption to office on 15 May 2026 coincided with the celebration of his 51st birthday.

The activity was filled with joy, camaraderie, and gratitude as MCFS personnel expressed their warm welcome and reaffirmed their commitment to work together in pursuing the station's goals and mandate.

The Malaybalay City Fire Station family looks forward to achieving greater milestones under the leadership and guidance of CINSP VILLAROYA as we continue to provide responsive, efficient, and dedicated public service to the community.

Today, at approximately 1530H, personnel of the Malaybalay City Fire Station, led by 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐃 𝐌 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀, City Fire Marshal, responded to a vehicular fire incident involving a fuel truck that transpired at San Jose, Malaybalay City, fronting WILCON DEPOT. Initial investigation revealed that the fire originated from the vehicle’s tires due to an overheating brake system, posing a potential threat considering the highly flammable cargo being transported.

Upon noticing the incident, first responders from the WILCON DEPOT Firefighting Team immediately conducted fire suppression operations using Dry Chemical Fire Extinguishers. A total of three (3) units of 10-lbs fire extinguishers were utilized to initially suppress the fire. Responders thereafter proceeded to use water from their Fire Hose Cabinet (FHC), deploying two (2) rolls of 100-foot hose connections to further control the heat and prevent fire spread while awaiting the arrival of responding fire personnel.

Their swift, decisive, and coordinated response significantly contributed in containing the incident and preventing it from escalating into a more serious and hazardous fire situation.

The Bureau of Fire Protection – Malaybalay City Fire Station highly commends the WILCON DEPOT Firefighting Team for exemplifying preparedness, presence of mind, and commitment to public safety. Their actions serve as a strong reminder that 𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫 𝐮𝐬𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐲 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬.

This incident likewise emphasizes the 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐬𝐚𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐲 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and 𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐜𝐨𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 during emergencies. Rather than merely watching or recording the incident, prompt and appropriate action can greatly help minimize damage and prevent possible disaster.

In line with strengthening transparency, accountability, and professionalism in the delivery of public service, 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐃 𝐌 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀, City Fire Marshal, conducted a discussion and orientation with the Fire Safety Inspectors of this station regarding the implementation of 𝗕𝗙𝗣 𝗠𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗮𝗻𝗱𝘂𝗺 𝗖𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗡𝗼. 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲-𝟬𝟬𝟭 entitled, “𝘖𝘱𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘎𝘶𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘭𝘪𝘯𝘦𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘗𝘰𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘪𝘦𝘴 𝘰𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘜𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘉𝘰𝘥𝘺 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘯 𝘊𝘢𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘢 𝘥𝘶𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘥𝘶𝘤𝘵 𝘰𝘧 𝘍𝘪𝘳𝘦 𝘚𝘢𝘧𝘦𝘵𝘺 𝘐𝘯𝘴𝘱𝘦𝘤𝘵𝘪𝘰𝘯𝘴.”

The Malaybalay City Fire Station, under the leadership of 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐃 𝐌 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀, City Fire Marshal, attended the 1st Semester Provincial Command Conference held at Rcy Flor De Vista Resort, Sitio Balcayo, Brgy. Namnam, San Fernando, Bukidnon. The conference served as an avenue to strengthen coordination, align operational priorities, and reinforce the Bureau’s commitment to excellence in public service and fire safety initiatives.

Present during the said activity were the Regional Director of BFP Region 10, 𝐅𝐂𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐋 𝐂 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐈𝐎, the Assistant Regional Director for Operations, 𝐅𝐒𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐄𝐗𝐂𝐋𝐈𝐁𝐔𝐑𝐍 𝐋 𝐒𝐀𝐋𝐕𝐀Ñ𝐀, along with the Regional Officers and Staffs whose presence further highlighted the significance of the conference in promoting organizational direction, operational excellence, and strengthened leadership across the region.

As part of fostering stronger coordination and sustaining collaborative governance in the delivery of public safety services, the newly designated City Fire Marshal of the Bureau of Fire Protection – Malaybalay City Fire Station, 𝐅𝐂𝐈𝐍𝐒𝐏 𝐋𝐋𝐎𝐘𝐃 𝐌 𝐕𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐀𝐑𝐎𝐘𝐀, conducted a series of courtesy calls to key government officials and partner agencies.

The City Fire Marshal paid a courtesy visit to the Provincial Fire Marshal of Bukidnon, 𝐅𝐒𝐔𝐏𝐓 𝐑𝐎𝐌𝐄𝐎 𝐋 𝐌𝐈𝐑𝐀𝐍𝐃𝐀, to express respect, strengthen professional coordination, and reaffirm the Bureau’s commitment to responsive and effective fire service operations across the province.

Likewise, a courtesy call was extended to 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫, 𝐇𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐭𝐭𝐲. 𝐉𝐚𝐲 𝐖𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐧 𝐑. 𝐏𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐧, in recognition of the vital role of the local government in advancing programs, initiatives, and community-centered public safety efforts. During the meeting, discussions also focused on the upcoming Barangay Fire and Rescue Olympics, highlighting the shared commitment to strengthening community preparedness, enhancing emergency response capabilities, and promoting fire safety awareness at the barangay level.

Also visited was the Head of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (LDRRMO),𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐞𝐟 𝐀𝐥𝐚𝐧 𝐉. 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐨, to further strengthen inter-agency cooperation and enhance disaster preparedness, emergency response, and community resilience initiatives.

These engagements signify the continued commitment of BFP Malaybalay City Fire Station in building strong partnerships and ensuring efficient, proactive, and people-centered public service for the community.
