The Grade 11 learners under the Kitchen Operations โ€“ Technical Professional (TechPro) program of Mariano Peralta National High School (MPNHS) โ€“ Senior High School in Davao Occidental demonstrated their culinary skills through a hands-on learning session on knife skills, focusing on the different types of vegetable cuts.

Guided by their teacher, Marwin Saplagio, the learners practiced proper cutting techniques, precision, and kitchen safety, which are essential competencies in food preparation and the hospitality industry.

Through experiential learning, MPNHS continues to equip its TechPro learners with industry-relevant knowledge and practical skills, preparing them to become competent, skilled, and work-ready professionals.

Sir Felix I. Antecristo, or "Sir Felix", began his journey at the Holy Cross of Sta. Maria in 1989, a young teacher whose dreams were as vast as the skies and whose heart beats in rhythm with service. In 2006, he crossed another threshold, stepping into new responsibilities at Heracleo Casco Memorial National High School like a sailor embracing a wider sea.

His academic roots were watered by excellence, from being valedictorian at Jose Timbol Sr. Central Elementary School to topping his class at Holy Cross of Sta. Maria. He then further distinguished himself as a BEMS scholar, earning a Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Science from Holy Cross of Davao College.

For years, Sir Felix stood at the helm of curriculum implementation, steering the division through the tides of reformโ€”from K-12 to the MATATAG and Revised K-10 curricula. He was the lighthouse for supervisors, the compass for teachers, and the guardian ensuring that every learner received education that was quality, relevant, and responsive to their needs.

More than a chief, he was a leader whose integrity was a fortress, a mentor whose patience was a river, and a public servant whose heart was an open door. As he steps into retirement, the Schools Division holds fast to a lesson he etched in everyone's minds: that a promise is not made to be broken, but to be kept like a sacred vow.

For his colleagues, Sir Felix led the Curriculum Implementation Division with a firm hand and a kind heartโ€”the very way a father leads his family, with strength wrapped in love. To many, he was not just the CID Chief; he was โ€œtatayโ€ in the office, โ€œkuyaโ€ in the field, and a mentor for life, a name spoken with warmth in every corner of the division.

As he begins this final stretch, his legacy blooms like a garden tended with care, living on in the reforms he championed, the teachers he shaped, and the learners whose futures he helped secure. The Schools Division of Davao Occidental bids him not an end, but a grateful farewell to a chapter written with dedication, service, and loveโ€”a story that will echo in the halls of education long after his footsteps have faded.

Thank you for your genuine service, Chief Felix!
