The Provincial Agriculturist Office (PAGRO) of Davao Occidental, headed by Provincial Agriculturist Ms. Nally S. Bangoy, RAgr., PhD, through its Socio-Economic Division and in partnership with the Davao Occidental General Hospital (DOGH), successfully conducted the KADIWA ng Pangulo on July 31, 2026, at the DOGH grounds in Brgy. Lacaron, Malita, Davao Occidental. The activity was held in support of the 52nd Nutrition Month Celebration with the theme "Nutrisyon at Kalikasan, Pangalagaan."
The activity served as a venue to promote locally produced agricultural commodities while providing sustainable market opportunities for farmers' cooperatives and associations (FCAs). It also reinforced the provincial government's commitment to strengthening local food systems, increasing farmers' income, and advancing sustainable agricultural development.
Participating FCAs included the Solidarity Farmers Association (SOFA), Mawalay Farmers Cooperative (MAFAMCO), YAKAPP Association, SMACC & VISFA, Bolo-Bolo Matpad Farmers Association (BOMFA), and the Southern Davao Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SDMC). The participating organizations showcased a diverse selection of fresh agricultural produce and locally processed products, enabling hospital personnel, patients, and visitors to purchase affordable, fresh, and quality products directly from local farmers.
A highlight of the event was the Best Booth Competition, which recognized the participants' creativity, organization, product presentation, and overall booth appeal. SMACC & VISFA was awarded First Place, followed by Mawalay Farmers Cooperative (MAFAMCO) in Second Place, and Bolo-Bolo Matpad Farmers Association (BOMFA) in Third Place. The remaining participating associations received Consolation Awards in recognition of their active participation and meaningful contributions to the success of the activity.
Collectively, the participating farmers' cooperatives and associations generated total sales of โฑ20,904.00 during the one-day activity, demonstrating the positive impact of the KADIWA ng Pangulo Program in expanding market access for local producers while providing the community with affordable and quality agricultural products.
The successful conduct of the activity reflects the continued commitment of the Provincial Government of Davao Occidental, through PAGRO, to supporting local farmers, promoting food security, and fostering stronger partnerships that contribute to inclusive and sustainable agricultural development.
