June 1, 2026 - In support of the nationwide 2026 Brigada Eskwela, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) XI Davao Occidental Field Office, through the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program, provided temporary employment opportunities to community members who actively participated in school clean-up, repair, and maintenance activities in preparation for the opening of classes.

Mr. Jason M. Delos Reyes, School Principal of Pedro Mariscal National High School in Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, shared, "On behalf of Pedro Mariscal National High School, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to DOLE for being one of our valued partners in Brigada Eskwela 2026. Your support through the TUPAD program has greatly contributed to the success of our school preparations for the opening of classes. Through your assistance, we are able to provide a safer and more conducive learning environment for our students."

Meanwhile, Dr. Estrellita A. Ramos, School Principal of Heracleo Casco Memorial National High School in Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental noted that the assistance significantly eased the school's preparations for the opening of classes, as TUPAD beneficiaries helped clean and maintain classrooms and school facilities. Their contributions enabled teachers and school personnel to devote more time and attention to instructional preparation and other learning-related activities. Dr. Ramos likewise expressed her gratitude to DOLE for its continued support to the education sector.

On the other hand, Samantha T. Lamila of Brgy. Poblacion, Sta. Maria, Davao Occidental, highlighted that the TUPAD Program not only contributed to the successful preparation of the school for the opening of classes but also provided much-needed financial assistance to beneficiaries like her. She expressed her appreciation for the opportunity to earn temporary employment while helping improve the school's learning environment, noting that the income earned through the program would help support her family's daily needs and other essential expenses.

DOLE XI Davao Occidental Provincial Director Paul V. Cruz conveyed that beyond providing emergency employment and income support, the TUPAD Program continues to promote community participation and shared responsibility in advancing quality education through meaningful public service.
