The DILG Davao Occidental Provincial Office participated in the Orientation and Formulation of the Regional Institutional Development Support (RIDS) Program Implementation Plan held on August 3–4, 2026, at the Apo View Hotel, Davao City.

The activity aims to discuss the CY 2026 RIDS implementation framework, targets, and expected deliverables; review the governance performance of local government units (LGUs) using the Seal of Good Local Governance (SGLG), Governance Assessment Report (GAR), and other governance assessment results; analyze governance gaps and identify priority capacity development interventions through the Capacity Development Agenda Analytics System (CapDevAS); and formulate the Provincial RIDS Implementation Plan aligned with identified governance priorities.

Through this initiative, DILG continues to promote evidence-based planning and strategic capacity development, ensuring that institutional support and interventions are responsive to the governance needs of LGUs and contribute to the delivery of more effective, accountable, and people-centered local governance.

The DILG Davao Occidental actively participated in the Data Repopulation Workshop on the Capacity Development Agenda Analytics System (CapDevAS) for all DILG Field Operating Units held on 20 July 2026 at the Ritz Hotel at Garden Oases, Davao City.

The workshop focused on ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and integrity of capacity development data through the systematic repopulation of the CapDevAS database. This initiative strengthens DILG's commitment to evidence-based planning, data-informed decision-making, and the effective delivery of capacity development interventions for local government units (LGUs).

Through quality data and strengthened information management, DILG continues to enhance its technical assistance and capacity development programs—supporting more responsive, efficient, and accountable local governance.

HAPPENING NOW | ASEAN Smart City Talks 2026

In line with the Philippine Chairship of the ASEAN this year and the DILG’s role as the National Representative to the ASEAN Smart Cities Network (ASCN), the Department is hosting the Smart City Talks: “Building New Pathways for Smart, Inclusive, and Sustainable Cities and Communities in the ASEAN Region by 2030,” 21 July 2026, 9:00 AM.
The event aims to serve as a platform to disseminate information on the development of Sustainable Development Goal 11 National Roadmap, facilitate sharing of good practices, experiences, and lessons learned in implementing sustainable initiatives, and explore areas of collaboration to support accelerating the achievement of SDG 11.
