Through the PSTO Act, the Department of Science and Technology's Provincial Science and Technology Centers (PSTCs) were transformed into Provincial Science and Technology Offices (PSTOs), enhancing their capacity to deliver responsive, relevant, and impactful S&T programs and services at the provincial level.

𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐲𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 since the enactment of the PSTO Act, Provincial Science and Technology Offices have continued to advance science, technology, and innovation at the grassroots level by facilitating technology transfer and commercialization, supporting the growth and innovation of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), providing science and technology-based solutions to local communities, and strengthening partnerships among local government units, academic institutions, and other stakeholders.
