Celebrating National Technical-Vocational Day and TESDA’s 32nd Anniversary

The Municipality of Malita joins the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), Public Employment Service Office (PESO), partner agencies, participating employers, and job seekers in the celebration of National Technical-Vocational Day and TESDA’s 32nd Anniversary through the World Café of Opportunities.

Hon. Estefanie “Esma” Bautista-Dumama, Municipal Councilor, attended the activity as the duly designated representative of Municipal Mayor Hon. Benjamin “Ismo” Bautista Jr., conveying the Municipality’s support for initiatives that promote skills development, employment, and livelihood opportunities for the people of Malita.

The World Café of Opportunities highlights the important role of technical-vocational education and skills development in opening pathways toward employment, livelihood, and a better future. The activity also featured a Job Fair, providing job seekers with opportunities to connect with potential employers, explore career options, and find suitable employment opportunities.

The Local Government Unit of Malita extends its sincere appreciation to TESDA, DOLE, PESO, participating employers, partner agencies, and all stakeholders for their continued partnership and commitment to creating meaningful opportunities for our community.

BARANGAY HEALTH WORKERS SUMMIT 2026

Theme: “Empowered BHWs, Stronger Communities, Healthier Tomorrow”

The Municipality of Malita successfully conducted the 2026 Barangay Health Workers (BHW) Summit at the New Malita Gym, bringing together our dedicated BHWs for a day of learning, appreciation, fellowship, and renewed commitment to community health.

Sincere appreciation is extended to Municipal Mayor Hon. Benjamin “Ismo” P. Bautista Jr. for his continued support of programs that empower and recognize our Barangay Health Workers. We likewise thank Hon. Esma Bautista-Dumama, Chairperson on Health, and Board Member Hon. Enteng Bautista for their presence, support, and inspiring messages.

We also acknowledge our Municipal Health Officer, Dr. Claudine Blanche A. Bontia, for her leadership and continued efforts in strengthening local health programs and supporting our BHWs in their vital role as frontline health partners in our communities.

The Summit also featured Engr. James Ivory M. Serrania, Plant Manager of San Miguel Global Power (SMGP) Malita, as distinguished guest, and Ms. Jinky M. Espino, Regional BHW Coordinator, as guest speaker. They shared valuable insights on the roles of BHWs and updates on the BHW National Registry.

The Municipality of Malita also extends its sincere appreciation to San Miguel Global Power (SMGP) Malita for its valuable partnership and support in making this meaningful event possible.

Yesterday’s payout for the Tulong Panghanapbuhay para sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program for our laborers, ambulant vendors, drivers, and fishermen/ banca operators who received cash incentives and fuel subsidy went super smoothly! We’re so grateful for the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our local workers—you truly are the backbone of Malita.

A huge thank you to our partner agency that collaborated with us and the local leaders who always have our workers' backs: Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Provincial Head Sir Paul V. Cruz and our Municipal Mayor Hon. Benjamin "Ismo" Bautista Jr., Municipal Councilor Hon. Estefanie "Esma" Bautista-Dumama, and Municipal Administrator Engr. Bryan T. Bautista. Thank you for your endless support and for making programs like this possible.

Caballero, CESE, warmly welcomes the newly designated Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) of Malita, Atty. Prince Lloyd D. Depalubos, MPA.

This transition marks another meaningful chapter in the continuing partnership between the LGU Malita and the DILG in promoting effective, accountable, transparent, and responsive local governance. With renewed leadership and shared commitment, we look forward to further strengthening the delivery of government programs, projects, and services for the people of Malita.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malita, under the leadership of Hon. Benjamin P. Bautista Jr., through the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO), in partnership with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Regional Field Office XI, successfully conducted the distribution of cash assistance under the Unified Package for Livelihoods, Industry, Food, and Transport (UPLIFT) Program of the national government on August 4, 2026, at the New Malita Gymnasium in Poblacion, Malita, Davao Occidental.

The August 4, 2026 distribution formed part of the six scheduled distribution activities organized to cover all 30 beneficiary barangays. The distribution schedule was determined based on the proximity of recipient barangays to the designated distribution venues to ensure an efficient, orderly, and accessible rollout. The distribution venues were as follows:

July 29, 2026 – Barangay Demoloc
July 30, 2026 – Barangay Little Baguio
July 31, 2026 – Barangays Lagumit and Bolila (simultaneous distribution)
August 4, 2026 – Barangay Poblacion
August 5, 2026 – Barangay Lacaron

The cash assistance aims to help ease the financial burden experienced by qualified beneficiaries due to economic challenges and the rising cost of living brought about by the national energy emergency. The successful implementation of the program highlights the strong partnership between the LGU of Malita and DSWD Field Office XI and reaffirms the local government's commitment to delivering responsive programs that directly promote the welfare of its constituents.
