The newly installed Commander of the 402nd Infantry (Stinger) Brigade, Brigadier General Edmun Paul R. Delos Santos, visited the Headquarters of the 28th Infantry (Kamagong) Battalion in Brgy. Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon on 31 March 2026.

He was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo G. Ferrer, Commanding Officer of 28IB together with Captain Jaymark O. Pamittan, Acting Battalion Executive Officer, along with the staff officers, company commanders, and the dedicated enlisted personnel of the 28IB.

During his visit, Brigadier General Delos Santos engaged with the troops and was briefed on the battalion’s ongoing combat and civil military operations in support of its mission.

In his message, Brigadier General Delos Santos encouraged the Kamagong Troopers to foster innovation, think beyond conventional approaches, and remain steadfast in fulfilling their responsibilities. He underscored the importance of maintaining motivation, taking pride in their duties, and upholding the highest standards of professionalism. He also reminded everyone to remain nonpartisan while carrying out their roles with integrity and commitment.

The Commander of the 402nd Infantry (STINGERS) Brigade, BRIGADIER GENERAL ADOLFO B ESPUELAS JR PA, rendered his Exit Visit to the Headquarters of the 28th Infantry (KAMAGONG) Battalion at Brgy. Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon on March 4, 2026.

BGen Espuelas was rendered appropriate military honors upon his arrival and was warmly received by Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo G. Ferrer, Commanding Officer of the 28IB, together with Major Julan M. Ocharan, Battalion Executive Officer, the Battalion Staff, Company Commanders, and the Kamagong Troopers.

During the program, the Brigade Commander expressed appreciation to the troops for their dedication and accomplishments in combat and civil-military operations during his tenure, and commended the battalion’s teamwork in fulfilling its mandate and supporting efforts to sustain peace and development in its area of responsibility. BGen Espuelas urged the soldiers to remain mission-oriented, serve with integrity, remain apolitical, and protect the gains toward lasting peace.

Also present during the activity was Hon. Gary D. Casiño, Municipal Mayor of Malitbog, who expressed his gratitude to BGen Espuelas for his leadership and support to the municipality throughout his time as Brigade Commander. Mayor Casiño likewise thanked the Kamagong Troopers for their continued dedication in maintaining peace and security in the community and for their active partnership with the local government in promoting development and stability.

The visit concluded on a note of gratitude and mutual respect, with the Kamagong Troopers reaffirming their commitment to uphold the guidance and leadership exemplified by their outgoing Brigade Commander.

TREE PLANTING ACTIVITY | 129th Philippine Army Founding Anniversary

In celebration of the 129th Philippine Army Founding Anniversary, one section of H28IB, led by 1LT San Luis, Acting CMO Officer, under the leadership of LTC Ronaldo G. Ferrer INF (GSC) PA, Commanding Officer, conducted a Tree Planting Activity at Purok Puntod, Brgy. Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon on 08 March 2026.

The activity brought together personnel from Malitbog MPS, led by PEMS Enrico P. Dominguez, criminology interns assigned to Malitbog MPS, students from Bukidnon State University – Malitbog Extension, guided by Teacher Hilfiger L. Cabarrubia, Hon. Dionisio D. Kilem, Barangay Kagawad of Mindagat, and Nutrimax Fresh-Baked Inc., Phividec Industrial Estate, Barangay Santa Cruz, Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental (Gardenia Philippines, Tagoloan), which provided bread for additional snacks during the activity.

With enthusiasm and teamwork, everyone planted tree seedlings, showing that protecting our environment is a shared responsibility. The activity also strengthened bonds between the military, police, local leaders, students, and the community.

The Commander of the 4th Infantry (DIAMOND) Division, Major General Michele B Anayron Jr, paid his Exit Visit to the Headquarters of the 28th Infantry (KAMAGONG) Battalion in Brgy. Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon on 03 March 2026.

Upon arrival, MGen Anayron was accorded the appropriate military honors and warmly welcomed by Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo G Ferrer, Commanding Officer of the 28IB, together with Major Julan M Ocharan, Battalion Executive Officer as well as the Battalion Staff, Company Commanders and the Kamagong Troopers.

During his remarks, the Division Commander expressed his sincere appreciation for the battalion’s continued operational successes and its active role in both combat and civil-military operations throughout its area of responsibility. He commended the troops for their discipline, teamwork, and dedication in supporting peace and development initiatives within the communities they serve.

As he concluded his tenure, MGen Anayron encouraged the soldiers to remain resilient in addressing emerging security challenges while maintaining unity and professionalism within the ranks. He also reminded them to stay apolitical and committed to their sworn duty of serving the nation and protecting the Filipino people.

The visit concluded with a shared sense of gratitude and respect, highlighting the strong partnership between the Division Headquarters and the Kamagong Battalion in their collective mission of sustaining peace and security in the region.

28IB Holds Monday Flag-Raising Ceremony, Pins Unit Patch on Newly Assigned Second Lieutenants

MALITBOG, Bukidnon – On 16 February 2026, the 28th Infantry (Kamagong) Battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo G. Ferrer, Commanding Officer, conducted its regular Monday flag-raising ceremony at the battalion headquarters in Barangay Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon. The event was highlighted by the formal pinning of unit patches on its newly assigned Second Lieutenants.

The ceremony formally welcomed the new officers and marked their official integration into the battalion. It also reaffirmed their commitment to serve with professionalism, integrity, and dedication as members of the “Kamagong” family.

In his message, Lieutenant Colonel Ferrer emphasized the importance of leadership, accountability, and dedication to duty. He reminded the newly assigned officers that wearing the unit patch signifies not only a sense of belonging, but also the responsibility to uphold the standards, discipline, and traditions of the unit.

Look: The 28th Infantry (Kamagong) Battalion, under the leadership of Lieutenant Colonel Ronaldo G. Ferrer, Commanding Officer, in partnership with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) of Tagoloan, conducted a heartfelt gift-giving activity for the local populace of the Municipality of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental.
This collaborative effort highlighted the true spirit of service and bayanihan, as soldiers and social workers joined hands to bring smiles, hope, and encouragement to families in the community. The activity strengthened cooperation between government agencies and reinforced their shared commitment to uplifting the lives of the people.
More than a simple act of giving, the initiative reflected the 28IB Kamagong Battalion’s dedication to peace-building and community partnership. Together with MSWDO Tagoloan, they continue to foster unity, compassion, and trust,building a stronger and more caring community for all.

LOOK: 28IB Joins Nationwide Simultaneous Flag-Raising for the 90th AFP Founding Anniversary

Malitbog, Bukidnon — On 19 December 2025, the 28th Infantry (Kamagong) Battalion joined the nationwide simultaneous flag-raising ceremony in celebration of the 90th Founding Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP). The ceremony was held at the battalion headquarters in Brgy. Mindagat, Malitbog, Bukidnon, and was attended by officers and enlisted personnel of the unit. The activity highlighted the AFP’s nine decades of dedicated service in defending the nation and promoting peace and security.

As the Philippine flag was raised, troops rendered military honors in unity with AFP units across the country, symbolizing solidarity and a shared commitment to the organization’s mission. The event was conducted in line with this year’s anniversary theme, “Matatag na Sandatahang Lakas, Sandigan sa Bagong Pilipinas,” emphasizing the AFP’s vital role in nation-building and in supporting the government’s vision of a stronger and more resilient Philippines.

During the ceremony, Major Julan M. Ocharan, Battalion Executive Officer, read the message of General Romeo S. Brawner Jr., Chief of Staff Armed Forces of the Philippines. The message underscored the significance of honoring the sacrifices and dedication of past and present AFP personnel who have contributed to the organization’s strength and credibility over the past nine decades. He further encouraged troops to continue upholding the core values of Honor, Service, and Patriotism in the faithful performance of their duties. In his message, General Brawner stated: “On this 90th Anniversary of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, let us stand firm, move forward with unity and purpose, and remain faithful to the trust entrusted to us by the Filipino people. Matatag ang Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas hindi dahil madali ang ating tungkulin, kundi dahil hindi tayo umatras sa oras ng pagsubok. Sandigan tayo ng bayan sapagkat pinatunayan ng mga nauna sa atin na ang lakas ng bansa ay nasusukat sa karakter ng mga nagtatanggol nito. Para sa Diyos. Para sa Bayan. Para sa Sambayanang Pilipino.”

LOOK: 28IB Participates in Career Guidance Culmination Program

12 December 2025 — Personnel of the 28th Infantry “Kamagong” Battalion, led by Second Lieutenant Sarah Vanessa I. Vera, actively participated in the Career Guidance Culmination Program held at San Luis National High School, Barangay San Luis, Malitbog, Bukidnon.

The activity featured a static display showcasing the discipline, capabilities, and equipment of the Kamagong Troopers, providing students with firsthand insight into military life and the various career opportunities within the Armed Forces of the Philippines. This initiative aimed to inspire students to pursue meaningful, service-oriented career paths.

The program was attended by the school’s faculty, staff, and students, headed by Mrs. Jenelyn S. Molo, School Head, who actively engaged in the presentations. Students also took part in this activitiy expressing their aspirations and envisioned professions, reflecting the positive impact of the career guidance initiative.

This activity further strengthened the partnership between the 28IB and the school community, underscoring the unit’s commitment to supporting education, youth development, and nation-building beyond its core security mandate.
