ALBULARYO FALLS IN CAVITE GUN BUST; 3 LOOSE FI****MS SEIZED

The Philippine National Police (PNP), under the leadership of PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., intensified its campaign against loose fi****ms following the arrest of a 72-year-old Filipino male known by the alias “Nilo” during the implementation of a search warrant for violation of Republic Act No. 10591, or the Comprehensive Fi****ms and Ammunition Regulation Act, on July 29, 2026, in Barangay Pasong Kawayan I, General Trias City, Cavite.

Operatives of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Cavite Provincial Field Unit served the search warrant, resulting in the confiscation of three loose fi****ms consisting of one caliber .45 pistol, one caliber .357 revolver, and one caliber .22 revolver, along with assorted magazines and ammunition. The suspect was taken into custody after authorities established that he had no license or permit to possess the fi****ms.

Further investigation revealed that the suspect is a known albularyo in the locality who allegedly sold agimat or amulets which he claimed could protect buyers from bullets. Authorities also gathered information that he allegedly demonstrated the supposed power of the amulets by publicly firing fi****ms, an act that had caused fear and alarm among residents in the community.

PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. underscored the PNP’s unwavering commitment to enforcing firearm laws and protecting communities from the dangers posed by loose fi****ms.

“The unlawful possession of fi****ms undermines peace and public safety. We will relentlessly pursue individuals who choose to violate our laws and put communities at risk,” PGEN Nartatez said.

“Walang sinuman ang maaaring magtago sa likod ng anumang paniniwala para labagin ang batas. Kapag may ilegal na baril, kikilos ang PNP upang mapanatili ang kaayusan at maprotektahan ang ating mga kababayan,” he added.

The operation reflects the PNP Focused Agenda, a strategic framework for organizational transformation that advances responsive and effective policing. Among its key priorities is Enhanced Managing Police Operations, which drives sustained intelligence-based law enforcement efforts against illegal fi****ms and other threats to public safety.

₱22-M ILLEGAL DRUGS WIPED OUT IN ONE-DAY NATIONWIDE PNP OPS; HIGH-VALUE DRUG SUSPECT NABBED

The Philippine National Police, under the leadership of PNP Chief PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., dealt another significant blow to the illegal drug trade through one-day nationwide anti-illegal drug operations on July 31, 2026, resulting in the confiscation and destruction of illegal drugs with a total standard drug price of PhP22,068,800.00 and the arrest of one High-Value Drug Suspect.

The largest accomplishment came from separate ma*****na eradication operations in Barangays Loccong and Buscalan, Tinglayan, Kalinga, where joint operations involving the PNP and partner government agencies led to the discovery, uprooting, and on-site destruction of approximately 94,500 fully grown ma*****na plants (FGMJPs) valued at PhP18,900,000.00. Although no cultivators were apprehended, the operations prevented the illegal crops from entering the supply chain and curtailed ma*****na production in the area.

In Barangay Lilod Baklayan, Ditsaan Ramain, Lanao del Sur, a buy-bust operation resulted in the arrest of a male High-Value Drug Suspect and the confiscation of approximately 466 grams of suspected shabu with a standard drug price of PhP3,168,800.00. During the operation, an armed confrontation ensued after an armed cohort identified only by the alias “Alnor” engaged the operating personnel. The suspect sustained gunshot wounds and was later declared dead on arrival at a medical facility.

The nationwide accomplishments underscore the sustained implementation of the PNP Focused Agenda, a strategic direction for organizational transformation that strengthens the organization’s capability to address evolving peace and order challenges. Anchored on the key priority of Enhanced Managing Police Operations, the PNP remains committed to sustaining intelligence-driven and results-oriented operations against illegal drugs.

“Illegal drugs remain a serious threat to public safety, and we will relentlessly pursue those who profit from this criminal enterprise. Every successful operation strengthens our resolve to protect Filipino communities from the harmful effects of narcotics,” said PGEN Nartatez.

“Walang puwang ang ilegal na droga sa ating mga komunidad. Patuloy nating hahabulin ang mga sangkot at pananagutin sila ayon sa batas,” PGEN Nartatez added.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) reported the confiscation of more than ₱15.3 million worth of alleged smuggled ci******es following a law enforcement operation conducted in Davao City, underscoring the government's continuing campaign against illicit trade and economic crimes.

The operation, carried out by the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) in coordination with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Region XI and local police units, resulted in the arrest of a 35-year-old male suspect known by the alias "Prin."

Authorities also recovered hundreds of master cases and reams of alleged smuggled ci******es believed to have entered the country without the required government clearances and tax markings.

Initial investigation showed that the seized to***co products allegedly lacked the mandatory Graphic Health Warnings, BIR Excise Tax Stamps, and the necessary import clearance from the National To***co Administration, indicating possible violations of existing laws.

The operation forms part of the PNP's intensified efforts to curb economic offenses under its Focused Agenda, particularly through enhanced police operations aimed at protecting legitimate businesses, safeguarding government revenues, and supporting the national drive for economic security.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sustained its intensified nationwide law enforcement campaign on August 1, resulting in the destruction of approximately ₱15.9 million worth of ma*****na plants in Kalinga and the arrest of 18 Most Wanted Persons (MWPs) facing various criminal charges in separate operations across the country.

In Tinglayan, Kalinga, joint operating teams from the PNP Drug Enforcement Group, Kalinga Police Provincial Office, Police Regional Office Cordillera, PNP Special Action Force, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, and other partner units conducted simultaneous ma*****na eradication operations in Barangays Loccong and Buscalan.

The teams uprooted and destroyed on-site around 79,500 fully grown ma*****na plants with a combined Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱15.9 million. No cultivators were apprehended, and follow-up operations are underway to identify those responsible.

On the same day, police units nationwide successfully served warrants against 18 Most Wanted Persons, including individuals listed at the national, regional, and provincial levels. Those arrested face charges that include murder, r**e, qualified r**e, statutory r**e, qualified theft, violations of Republic Act No. 9165, acts of lasciviousness, and sexual assault. All arrested individuals were placed under the custody of the operating units for proper legal proceedings.

These accomplishments reflect the PNP's continuing implementation of its Focused Agenda, particularly under Enhanced Managing Police Operations, through intelligence-driven and coordinated law enforcement efforts in support of the peace and security initiatives of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) sustained its campaign against smuggling with the successful interception of more than ₱6.9 million worth of suspected smuggled ci******es in separate law enforcement operations conducted in Zamboanga Sibugay and Zamboanga del Sur from August 1 to 2.

The operations resulted in the arrest of two Filipino suspects, including a 52-year-old individual, and the confiscation of 122 master cases of suspected smuggled ci******es with an estimated total value of ₱6,990,400.00. Authorities also recovered a vehicle and an unmarked motorized fishing boat believed to have been used in the transport of the contraband.

The arrested individuals and the seized items are now under police custody pending the filing of appropriate charges.

The accomplishments reflect the PNP's continuing efforts to curb the entry and movement of smuggled goods, which undermine legitimate businesses and deprive the government of lawful revenues.
