Palace orders alternative work arrangements in NCR, 12 provinces due to heavy rains
Government offices in the National Capital Region (NCR) and 12 provinces have been directed to shift to appropriate alternative work arrangements today, August 14, due to continuous heavy rainfall associated with the Southwest Monsoon.
The directive covers NCR and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Bulacan, Pampanga, Tarlac, Nueva Ecija, Cavite, Batangas, Rizal, Laguna, Quezon, and Occidental Mindoro.
Executive Secretary Ralph Recto signed Memorandum Circular No. 126 upon the recommendation of the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) and following Heavy Rainfall Warnings issued by PAGASA.
Alternative learning modes for classes at all levels in public and private schools shall also be implemented in the affected areas, unless otherwise directed by local chief executives.
Agencies providing basic and health services, disaster preparedness and response, and other vital services are directed to continue operations.
Local chief executives may also suspend classes and/or work in government offices in other areas, while work arrangements in the private sector remain at the discretion of management.
