The activity provided our learners with a meaningful opportunity to showcase and develop their skills in journalism, writing, communication, critical thinking, and responsible information sharing.

SAN JUAN SITIO BALAYAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL โ€” The SJSBES Sports Fest 2026 was successfully conducted last week, bringing together the schoolโ€™s young athletes in a meaningful celebration of talent, teamwork, discipline, determination, and sportsmanship.

More than a competition, the Sports Fest provided learners with an opportunity to showcase their athletic abilities, develop healthy habits, strengthen friendships, and experience the true spirit of fair play. Throughout the different games and activities, the learners demonstrated enthusiasm, perseverance, teamwork, and respect for their fellow athletes.

The event also highlighted the values that make every Sitionian strong. Beyond the excitement of winning and competing, the young athletes learned that true success is also measured by discipline, respect, determination, teamwork, and perseverance.

The successful conduct of the Sports Fest was made possible through the leadership and guidance of Head Teacher I, Sir Joseph O. Hernandez, together with School MAPEH Coordinator, Ma'am Carmela Flores, whose dedication and support contributed greatly to the success of the schoolโ€™s sports program.

The school also expressed its heartfelt appreciation to the hardworking SPTA officers, whose continued support and cooperation helped make the activity meaningful and successful:

The school community also extended its sincere gratitude to Barangay Captain Hon. Randy Torres for his continued support and encouragement. His partnership and commitment to the school and its learners were greatly appreciated and contributed to the successful celebration of Sports Fest 2026.

As the Sports Fest came to a close, the playing field was left with more than memories of victories and defeats. It became a place where learners discovered the value of courage, friendship, teamwork, respect, and perseveranceโ€”lessons that extend far beyond the game.

The SJSBES Sports Fest 2026 may have ended, but the values and memories it created will continue to inspire the young Sitionians in their journey toward becoming confident, responsible, and determined individuals.

SAN JUAN SITIO BALAYAN ELEMENTARY SCHOOL โ€” A meaningful reading activity was conducted for the Grade 4 learners of San Juan Sitio Balayan Elementary School, highlighting the schoolโ€™s continued commitment to strengthening literacy and developing confident, capable, and independent readers.

The activity was graced by Dr. Chona Dirain, Public Schools District Supervisor (PSDS), who personally engaged with the Grade 4 learners through a reading assessment and monitoring activity. Her presence provided an opportunity to observe the learnersโ€™ reading skills and identify areas where they may be further supported and guided.

During the activity, the learners actively participated in the reading session, demonstrating their efforts and developing confidence as they read and responded to the given texts. The activity also emphasized the importance of regular reading practice in improving fluency, comprehension, vocabulary, and overall communication skills.

Joining Dr. Dirain in the activity was Head Teacher I, Sir Joseph O. Hernandez, whose leadership and continued support remain instrumental in strengthening the schoolโ€™s literacy initiatives and programs.

Also actively involved was Ma'am Janelle Castillo, Grade 4 Adviser, who continues to guide and encourage her learners in their reading journey. Her dedication and commitment play an important role in helping each learner develop the confidence and skills needed to become a successful reader.

The reading activity reflects the collaborative efforts of the district supervisor, school leadership, teachers, and learners in achieving one important goalโ€”to ensure that every child is given meaningful opportunities to improve their reading abilities and become more prepared for the challenges of the next grade level.

Every word read, every sentence understood, and every page turned brings a learner one step closer to becoming a confident, competent, and future-ready Sitionian.

Following the announcement of the Municipality of Malvar, there were no face-to-face classes in all levels of public and private schools in Malvar today, Friday, August 7, 2026.

In line with this, San Juan Sitio Balayan Elementary School (SJSBES) shifted to Alternative Mode of Learning / Modular Distance Learning to ensure the continuity of learning despite the suspension of face-to-face classes.

We thank our parents, learners, and teachers for their cooperation and commitment to keeping learning going even in challenging circumstances.
