San Juan Sitio Balayan Elementary School continues to strengthen professional learning among its teachers through a meaningful Learning Action Cell (LAC) Session focused on the English Language Curriculum.

The session featured an insightful โ€œOrientation on the English Language Curriculum: Key Features, Goals, and Components,โ€ facilitated by our dedicated teacher, Maโ€™am Laila Casilon.

Through the session, teachers were given an opportunity to deepen their understanding of the key features, goals, and essential components of the English Language Curriculum, providing valuable insights that can help strengthen classroom instruction and support better learning outcomes for our learners.

Also present during the session were Sir Joseph O. Hernandez, Head Teacher, and our Master Teacher I, Dr. Jaypee D. Morcilla, whose presence and support further strengthened the collaborative learning atmosphere of the LAC session.

Our heartfelt appreciation goes to Maโ€™am Laila Casilon for sharing her knowledge, expertise, and valuable insights with the teaching staff. Thank you for facilitating a meaningful learning experience that encourages continuous professional growth among our teachers.

The celebration was made even more special through the initiative and support of our School Parents-Teachers Association (SPTA), headed by its dedicated President, Mrs. Lea R. The teachers of San Juan Sitio Balayan Elementary School came together for a meaningful and productive Two-Day In-Service Training (INSET), providing an avenue for professional learning, reflection, collaboration, and continuous growth.

The first day formally opened with the singing of Lupang Hinirang, followed by an opening prayer led by Maโ€™am Laila Casilon. The participants then joined in the singing of the Bagong Pilipinas Hymn, Batangas Hymn, CALABARZON Hymn, and Malvar Hymn, creating an atmosphere of unity, pride, and shared purpose.
The Quality Policy Statement was also presented, reaffirming the schoolโ€™s commitment to quality, excellence, and continuous improvement in the delivery of education.

The opening program continued with the Welcome Remarks of Sir Joseph Hernandez, who set an inspiring tone for the training. This was followed by the attendance checking led by Sir Jaypee Morcilla, as the participants prepared for the learning sessions.

The first learning session focused on Classroom Management, facilitated by Sir Joseph Hernandez. The session highlighted the importance of establishing a positive, safe, organized, and engaging classroom environment where learners can participate actively and thrive.

The learning sessions continued with โ€œGuidelines on Ensuring a Safe and Motivating Learning Environment,โ€ facilitated by Maโ€™am Dianne D. Paran. The session emphasized the importance of creating a learning environment where learners feel safe, respected, supported, and motivated to actively participate in the learning process. Maโ€™am Dianne shared valuable insights and practical strategies that can help teachers promote positive classroom experiences and foster an environment conducive to the learnersโ€™ well-being, engagement, and holistic development.

The professional learning continued with a session facilitated by Dr. Jaypee D. Morcilla on โ€œStrengthening Literacy through the TALA Program in Support to SIP Project READ.โ€ The discussion centered on the importance of strengthening literacy interventions and providing responsive support to learners in developing their reading skills and comprehension. A significant part of the session was the emphasis on Project READ โ€“ Reading Enhancement Advocacy and Development through Support and Engagement, which aims to strengthen reading development through sustained support, active engagement, and collaborative efforts within the school community.

The session also featured Project NIMIA โ€“ Numeracy Intervention Materials and Interactive Assessment, facilitated by Dr. Jaypee D. Morcilla. The initiative highlighted the importance of providing appropriate numeracy intervention materials and engaging assessment strategies to help learners strengthen their mathematical skills and address their individual learning needs.
Through these initiatives, the training emphasized the importance of providing learners with targeted support in both literacy and numeracy, while equipping teachers with meaningful strategies and resources that can be applied in their respective classrooms.
The first day of the INSET reflected the teachersโ€™ shared commitment to continuous professional development and to finding meaningful ways to respond to the learning needs of every learner.

More than a training, the activity served as a reminder that professional growth is a continuous journeyโ€”and that every new learning gained by a teacher can create a meaningful difference in the classroom.
