🚨 READY FOR ANY DISASTER: 5 LGUs FACE OFF IN NDRM RESCUE OLYMPICS! 🌊🔥🚗

Disaster preparedness isn’t just about having a plan on paper—it’s about quick thinking, rapid ex*****on, and seamless teamwork when seconds count.

In celebration of National Disaster Resilience Month, emergency response teams from 5 Local Government Units (LGUs) gathered to put their skills to the ultimate test in an intense, high-stakes Disaster Response Skills Competition! Responders went head-to-head to demonstrate operational readiness, speed, and technical precision across a series of action-packed drills.

The friendly competition pushed teams to their limits across critical emergency scenarios:
🌊 Water Search and Rescue (WASAR): Testing life-saving techniques, water safety protocols, and rapid retrieval procedures under pressure.
🚗 Vehicular Accident Response: Simulating extrication, trauma management, and swift casualty handling during road emergencies.
🪣 Bucket Relay: Demonstrating community-level cooperation, coordination, speed, and stamina.
🔥 Fire Extinguishment: Exercising proper fire suppression techniques, equipment handling, and fire boundary control.

While every team brought heat and healthy competition to the arena, the true win is a safer, better-prepared province.

Kudos to all the participating LGUs, rescuers, uniformed personnel, winners, and organizers for making this event a massive success. Together, we are building safer, stronger, and more resilient communities! 💪🇵🇭

Rope Rescue Training | Daily Physical Conditioning

Physical conditioning is an essential part of the Rope Rescue Training, preparing participants for the physical and mental demands of rescue operations. Through consistent exercise, participants develop strength, endurance, agility, and discipline—qualities that are vital for performing rope rescue techniques safely and effectively.

Each training session helps improve physical fitness while reinforcing teamwork, resilience, and commitment. As participants continue to challenge themselves, they build the confidence, coordination, and readiness needed to respond efficiently in emergency situations.

Every exercise completed is another step toward becoming a stronger, more capable, and mission-ready rescuer, equipped with the skills and determination to serve and protect their communities.

Day 5 | July 17, 2026 | Graduation Day

The five-day Rope Rescue Training officially concluded with a Graduation Ceremony, recognizing the dedication, commitment, and hard work of all participants. Throughout the training, the participants successfully completed lectures, practical exercises, return demonstrations, and Field Training Exercises (FTEx), strengthening their knowledge, confidence, and technical skills in rope rescue operations.

During the ceremony, the facilitators expressed their appreciation to all participants for their discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and willingness to learn throughout the course. They encouraged everyone to continuously practice and enhance the skills they acquired, emphasizing that rope rescue requires constant training, preparedness, and commitment to saving lives. They also reminded the graduates that the knowledge gained during the training carries the responsibility of serving their respective communities with professionalism, competence, and safety.

In her closing message, Jessa Christie Q. Udarbe, Local Disaster Risk Reduction Officer III, congratulated all the graduates for successfully completing the training. She commended their determination and resilience in overcoming every challenge and encouraged them to continue developing their capabilities as emergency responders. She emphasized that the completion of the course marks not the end of learning, but the beginning of greater responsibility in protecting lives and responding effectively during emergencies. She also expressed her gratitude to the facilitators, partner agencies, and all participants for making the training a success.

Congratulations to all graduates for this remarkable achievement. May the knowledge, skills, and experience gained from this training be applied in delivering safe, effective, and professional rescue services, strengthening emergency response capabilities, and making a meaningful difference in the communities they serve.

Day 4 | July 16, 2026

The fourth day of the Rope Rescue Training culminated in a Full-Scale Field Training Exercise (FTEx) designed to assess and strengthen the participants' knowledge, skills, and teamwork in realistic rescue scenarios. The exercise provided an opportunity for the participants to apply the various rope rescue techniques and rescue methods learned throughout the training, including anchoring systems, mechanical advantage systems, rappelling, traversing, victim packaging, and rescue operations.

Participants from the five (5) MDRRMOs, PDRRMO, and Philippine Army Reservists worked together to execute simulated rescue missions, demonstrating effective coordination, communication, and decision-making under field conditions. The activity challenged the responders to safely and efficiently conduct rescue operations while adhering to proper safety procedures and operational standards.

Through this hands-on exercise, participants enhanced their competence, confidence, and readiness to respond to emergencies requiring technical rope rescue operations. The FTEx served as a valuable platform for evaluating individual and team performance, reinforcing the importance of preparedness, collaboration, and professionalism in saving lives during rescue missions.

The third day of the Rope Rescue Training focused on the continuation of rappelling and traversing techniques, followed by a return demonstration to strengthen participants' skills and confidence. Participants also learned and practiced rescue methods, including the Traverse Pick-Off and Ladder Rescue, enhancing their capability to perform safe and effective rope rescue operations in various emergency situations.

Day 2 | July 14, 2026

The second day of the Rope Rescue Training focused on Mechanical Advantage Systems, followed by a return demonstration to reinforce participants' knowledge and skills. Participants also underwent practical exercises on rappelling and traversing techniques, enhancing their competence in safe and efficient rope rescue operations.

These activities further developed the participants' technical skills, teamwork, and confidence in performing rope rescue techniques safely and effectively in emergency situations.
