Fish Updates: Distribution of tilapia fingerlings

On July 21, 2026, the Provincial Agriculture Department - Fisheries Sector team successfully executed a major fingerling deployment totaling 35,000 Tilapia fingerlings. The total allocation was strategically distributed across three key areas: 30,000 fingerlings for province-wide dispersal to local beneficiaries, 2,000 fingerlings stocked at PTVC Lumad, Mambajao, Camiguin and 3,000 fingerlings stocked at the PAGCOR Itum, Mambajao, Camiguin.

This initiative was made possible through the strong partnership between the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources-10 (BFAR-10), through PFO Camiguin, and the Provincial Local Government Unit (PLGU) of Camiguin under the leadership of Governor Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo.

By combining direct province-wide distribution to local fish farmers with targeted stocking at designated provincial facilities, this collaborative effort actively enhances inland fisheries production, supports rural livelihoods, and reinforces long-term food security across all of Camiguin.
